Well actually she touted about a more expensive version that I couldn't afford. I got one for myself and one for my husband. We both have been using a plug in one with a round head which I never really thought that much about it. It's a toothbrush for Pete's sake not a rocket launcher, it cleaned my teeth okay. It wasn't very portable with that charging station and all but I was okay with it. We got these in the mail and I gave my husband his "he said are you trying to tell me something", I told him that my new dentist recommended this so I got us both one. We both brush our teeth more frequently and for longer periods of time. It truly is just like you've been to the dentist for a cleaning and like a massage for your gums. I love running my tongue over my teeth after I've used it. We LOVE them. They also travel well, we just carry extra batteries with us. Highly recommend this toothbrush. My dentist has told me how much better my teeth and gums look now. VS Most Liked Negative Review Excellent cleaning It's hands down the best sonic toothbrush I've ever used. My only complaint is that I cannot afford a rechargeable one so I'm not susre how often I'll have to be changiing batteries. The other thing i miss is the quad pacer. Hopefully, I'll be able to save my pennies and purchase the one I truly want. REVIEWS Reviewed by 53 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: Works as well as the more expensive rechargeable models, but have to replace batteries about once a month. This is my second one that I have had about a month as the first stopped working just under a month. Keeping my fingers crossed. Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: Seemed to be working fine, and then just stopped after a month. Tried new batteries, but they didn't work, so I assume the motor was bad. Just got a replacement , so hope it lasts longer! Drugstore.com did replace it very quickly. Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: I've had three of these over the last ten years. The first one was replaced under warranty. (keep your receipts). As recommended, take it apart and clean under the contacts between the brush and the inside of the handle. A little water and paste will leek into the area and cause a poor contact, making you think that the battery is dead, when it is not. Also, when replacing the batteries (Maybe once a month) use rechargeable batteries. There is a rubber gasket around the cap covering the batteries. I use an old regular tooth brush to clean away any debris, let it dry completely before pitting it back together and put a little vaseline around the gasket to make it close tightly without banging on it! I always do a quick squeeze with a towel around the bristles after I use and rinse it, to limit the amount of water that will seep in around the brush area. If it's maintained, it will last a long time. The brushes last an incredibly long time compared to a regular manual tooth brush. Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: This toothbrush cleans very well, but I've gone through 3 of these toothbrushes within the past year. The batteries don't last more than 2 weeks, and is a pain to change. Not easy to open the bottom, have to use a nail file. After a couple of months, even after changing the batteries, the toothbrush stops working altogether. Sometimes, by tapping it on a hard surface to jostle the batteries, I'm able to get it to work again. Then, it stops sporatically. I'm lucky if I can brush all my teeth one time around. And..it's been with all 3 toothbrushes. The last one stopped after a week, and I put in Duracell batteries. I've had the same problem with the rechargable ones, too. After a couple of months, they stop working too, or doesn't get enough charge and the ultrasonic feature is too weak to work properly. I had throw out 2 rechargable toothbrushes. They were expensive, and can't be fixed. I figured I'd try the battery ones, so at least, I can change the batteries. All in all, Philips company send out a lot of defective products and don't take the time for quality control and fix these defects. When they work, they're a great toothbrush. Too expensive to keep wasting my money. Not recommended! Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: VA recommended this after first deployment. It survived second 12 month deploymeent to Afghanistan and constant use thru' present. Rechargable batteries last for many weeks with 2x/day use per charge. Almost as good as flossing if used 2 min minimum, 2X/day diligently. Check every several weeks if need to take apart+clean if liquids penetrate into head. Recommend most highly for durable, practical, highly effective care. Pros

Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: As a business traveler I put it in my brief case and use it after meals so my mouth is always clean. No worries about having a charger. Product needs a low battery warning so you wouldn't have to carry extras. Also, a cloth cover would be nice to have. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Philips Sonicare Xtreme Sonic Toothbrush e3000, Blue, 1 ea: I bought this version when my original Sonicare wouldn't hold a charge very long, intending to use my own high-quality, low-discharge NiMH rechargeable AAs in it. This has worked PERFECTLY for 3 years now, with the bonus of "zero recharge time" since I can pop in a new set of batteries and not have to wait for it to charge. Rechargeables last a nice, long time, and when they give out in 1-2 years (like in the original), I can just put new ones in for $2-3, instead of replacing the whole unit like with the built-in batteries. Old, dying batteries give poorer brushing quality, which defeats the whole purpose of the brush! (Same with old brush heads, BTW). Pros Cons
