Source Naturals Magnesium Malate is a compound of magnesium and malic acid. Malic acid is a natural fruit acid that is present in most cells in the body and is an important component of numerous enzymes key to ATP synthesis and energy production. Magnesium is an essential mineral in over 300 enzymatic reactions in metabolism. These reactions include those involved in the Krebs cycle (one of the body's main energy production processes), energy storage, the breakdown of fatty acids, protein synthesis, DNA metabolism, neurotransmitter activity and hormone regulation.*

As a person with fibromyalgia, magnesium and malic acid are highly recommended. Even if you don't have these diseases, most people do not get enough magmesium which doctors are recommending more of for everyone. It supports a healthy immune system, keeps bones strong, regulates blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, which are just a few of its virtues. Malic acid is the good "stuff" in vinegar; it can help ease muscle cramps, as well as alot of other good stuff-which is why my Mother drinks a "shot" of everyday. I prefer to get mine in pill form, thank you very much! This way, I can "kill 2 birds with 1 stone", so to speak. I highly recommend the combination of the two together and it is definitely is great for those of us with fibromyalgia.

I have been taking this product for two years since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, because Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum recommends it as part of his regimen. I combine it with Citracal Plus. About 4 months ago, I increased the amount of Mg to 3 pills a day. Since that time I have had very little fibro pain in my feet. The pills are large, but they are very smooth and go down easily with plenty of water.

This does not replace the eating of the greens, but it is a great supplement to your daily diet. I think it helps with depression (who really knows?!). If I had a complaint, it would just be the size of the tab...it's huge! However, the key is that I've noticed a difference and that is the important thing.
