I really don't like taking supplements in pill or capsule form. This powder is perfect for me to stay on top of my B-12 intake, plus it's high in Vitamin A and other nutrients. I use it in addition to nutritional yeast. I am not bothered by the smell, although I know different people have different sensitivities. I am okay with the smell of the sea and eat seaweed often. In fact, that is the smell I would compare it to - seaweed. Well, actually it reminds me most of the smell of pet fish food flakes. Anyone who has owned a fish knows what I am talking about. Am I the only one who took a deep whiff of that stuff as a kid whenever the container was opened? Anything that is harvested from the sea has that similar smell. But I find it light in this product, not overwhelming. I don't like taking it alone, so I stir it in with yogurt or smoothies and sprinkle some on salad. The taste is very subtle. I also hear it's great mixed in with juice but have yet to try it myself.
This product has an overwhelming, terrible odor. The moment you open the lid the stench fills your surrounding area with a lingering smell of dirty fish tanks or decaying pond scum. The liquid you mix it with then becomes a dark, sludge-like reeking glass of health. I barely managed to swallow my glassful, fighting off gagging the whole way. It nearly came out my nose the urge to vomit was so strong. Needless to say, my first dose was my last dose. Just happy I bought it on sale with free shipping so I'm only out [$]. This is the worst product I have ever tasted in 30 years.
I drink a Young Living Health drink called Balance Complete and the Spirulina gives me the extra energy and vitamins i need to feel fantastic at my age, 57.
