I used to buy snow cones and ices at stores. Now I use a recipe from tv cooking shows for syrup for shaved ice. I buy strawberries, watermelon, etc and measure two cups of fruit and two cups of splenda and heat in a pot (about 2 mins). When it cools I put it in a blender to liquify and I use it as a syrup on top of shaved ice. Great snow cone or icee treat. The splenda helps with the calories and it gives a taste like real sugar without the dangers of high sugar content (just in case your diabetic). sugar free uces at stires have sugar alcohol and other ingredients that say it isn't sugar free. even when advertised as sugar free So make your own.

I began using this product to replace the sugar I put in my coffee. After a month of using this, my stomach began to bloat up, to the point that my stomach hurt. the only new thing I had put into my diet was this product. And low and behold, when I stopped having the gas problems. Will never use this product again. I'd rather stay fat then go through that pain again.

Used to bake cakes - according to Splenda package, I added powdered milk and extra baking soda. Comes out great every time! Great in coffee or ice tea, makes great puddings and custards. I use instead of sugar in everything. No after taste. I cannot use Sweet and Low or Equal due to bad taste, but this is different and you use the same amount as sugar in the recipe. Be sure to follow the package for baking - you must use the powdered milk and extra baking soda in your recipe for it to come out well. In custards or recipes where sugar is only for flavor, you do not need to add anthing else - just substitute Splenda for the sugar in the recipe. Great for making low calorie desserts - Splenda has Zero calories!

I never really use sugar anymore. I use this for anything that calls for sugar and even to sweeten my iced tea. It's great! I've only had one recipe where there was a detectable taste difference and I'm not convinced it ws just a bad batch of chocolate no-bake cookies.

I know a lot of health food stores won't carry Splenda because it supposedly causes cancer, etc. It probably does, if you consume tons of it! For everyday use, though, it is easy to measure, tastes great and doesn't have any calories. I haven't used it in baking, but have found that it takes a bit more to sweeten hot foods than it does to sweeten cold foods.
