This product actually does work. I have it placed under my screen patio to decrease the amount of mosquitos that squeeze through and get inside the house. The tray that slides out could be a little easier to take off and the latch that opens the bottom tray is under the flap that traps the bugs in. You actually have to slowly open the leaver to get to the latch to empty the screen portion. The noise is definitely not a factor. The people who have stated the fan is an issue have have sensitive ears. Overall a good product.

I had hoped to use this unit on my worktable at night, once the windows could be opened. However, at least MY unit is so noisy that it drowns out my Dremel drill! As a prior reviewer noted, the units light must compete with other lights in the area. I put it on the floor right by the screen door where most insects come in - the noise is then tolerable and it does catch a LOT of insects - I have to empty it every couple days, and I try to empty it every morning to release any live ones. It is effective on small insects - 1" moths won't be sucked in (but then they don't bother me anyway - and it does catch the little biting ones).

used in kitchen it does not seem to do a very good job. with as many gnats fruit flies in our camper...there should have been at least 50 every day inside the trap..only saw 10 so far and it has been used for over a week now.

I purchased two of these. One is in use in our bedroom to catch the mosquitos, the other is in a living room hall to catch the flying bugs that come in from the front door.
So far so good. Product is larger than expected, but I have not had any issues with placing them.
I turn them on at night and shut them off in the morning. They have definately reduced the number of flying insects in our house. I am considering buying one for the garage.
The fan does make some noise, but nothing that keeps us from sleeping...

I live in SW Georgia, constantly inundated with flies, gnats, mosquitoes, etc. Add to that the fact that we have a dog flap on our kitchen door and you can bet we are overcome by flying pests. This unit works well in collecting the pests, I think I will purchase another. Right now we supplement it with the use of Fly Strips, which are very effective, but very messy and unsanitary, albeit disgusting to look at.

Chuck Norris sits on top of my beer fridge in the Cabin Garage, he doesn't hunt mosquitos he KILLS mosquitos! This little machine works VERY well! The light draws them, the vacuum sucks em up and drys them out in minutes! I had one set up in my cabin garage for the weekend and it caught at least 30 mosquitos, 2 flys and a moth! The moth survived and we let him go but those mosquitos didn't live to bite us! I recommend you get your own Chuck Norris.. I have two!

When it works it works well and gets the job done HOWEVER when the bulb goes, it is hard to find replacements. I only could find them online and not at retailer stores (ie [...] or [...]) but it didn't even matter because for some reason and it happened each time on several different units, once the original bulb goes, and was replaced with exact replacement bulb, the unit would no longer light. Would recommend but only with strong reservations. Wish manufacturer could address this problem, becuase the mosquitos love my kids almost as much as I do ;)
