This product actually does work. I have it placed under my screen patio to decrease the amount of mosquitos that squeeze through and get inside the house. The tray that slides out could be a little easier to take off and the latch that opens the bottom tray is under the flap that traps the bugs in. You actually have to slowly open the leaver to get to the latch to empty the screen portion. The noise is definitely not a factor. The people who have stated the fan is an issue have have sensitive ears. Overall a good product.

I had hoped to use this unit on my worktable at night, once the windows could be opened. However, at least MY unit is so noisy that it drowns out my Dremel drill! As a prior reviewer noted, the units light must compete with other lights in the area. I put it on the floor right by the screen door where most insects come in - the noise is then tolerable and it does catch a LOT of insects - I have to empty it every couple days, and I try to empty it every morning to release any live ones. It is effective on small insects - 1" moths won't be sucked in (but then they don't bother me anyway - and it does catch the little biting ones).

This did nothing. Not a single bug got caught in this thing. I'm still looking for something to save my kids from bites this summer.

Yes the product does an adequate to good job of controlling household insects
BUT I NOW HAVE MY THIRD UNIT 4 MONTHS. THE BULB (MORE LIKELY THE BALLAST) FAILS IN JUST OVER A MONTH. WITHOUT THE FLORESCENT BLACK LIGHT BULB FUNCTIONING, THE UNIT BECOMES USELESS

I was surprised to see so many great reviews for this product. I bought this as an alternative to fly paper, which is gross but effective. We always have problems with flies in the summer and I ran this for about 4 days straight in the house and it did not catch a single fly.

This product works great! It catches all of the flying insects that make it through the door when I let my dog out at night. We live in a wooded area, so it is impossible to let the dog out without letting the bugs in. My unit is not loud at all, you hear the fan running, but it is defiantly not louder than a Dremel drill.

I've been working in Iraq for the past 2 years, and this device WORKS!! When I go to sleep, I turn it on and make sure there are no other lights on (TV, etc). The next morning, it will have several mosquitos and gnats in it that would have terrorized me over the night. I live in Baghdad near the river, so there is a ton of bugs year round. The only complaint is the top lid rattles when the fan is going. I stuck a small piece of paper in the gap, and silenced the issue. It's a small price to pay for the over-all performance of the trap.

Comments about Stinger Indoor Flying Insect Trap, 1 ea:

This thing works GREAT for mosquitos! We live in FL, and everytime a door opens it's like a vacuum pulls in at least 2 mosquitos. We put our Stinger near our fruit bowl (catches EVERYTHING) in the center of the house (kitchen for us). We make sure to keep the lights out near it. I've had it for about a month, and have caught dozens of mosquitos in it. When installing the netted drawer, be quite sure the snap closes over the other plastic ledge with a loud snap, or the insects will be able to get back out through a gap. Check it by pulling the whole thing back out again to make sure the two pieces stay together (2 pieces of the drawer). Also, before cleaning it out, be SURE all the bugs are already dead. I let two out by accident today that weren't quite gone yet. :-(

Comments about Stinger Indoor Flying Insect Trap, 1 ea:

This works very well for catching flies, moths, and other small insects. In my home, it catches around 5 insects a night. However, it does not seem to attract any mosquitoes as advertised. I didn't expect it to be effective against mosquitoes because they aren't attracted to light. A co2, heat emitting trap would probably work better for them. I haven't tried the additional mosquito lure that fits into the device. Overall, the 'stinger' is a great product, very quiet, and a nice nightlight.

The flies this summer are like a plague on our house. This item works ok, but not great. The flies are drawn to any source of light--windows, doors, TV, etc, and the light in the Stinger really can only compete if it's night and everything else is dark. I got it on sale and with free shipping, so it's ok, but if I paid full price and shipping, I would probably return it. It's better at trapping the little-teeny bugs.
