Over time it has lessened in severity (going from massive cysts and boils predominately along one side of my face and forehead) to white and black heads that crop up hormonally driven. I've been to professionals and beauty isles alike. However, I've rarely had a perfectly CLEAR complexion at one time. I'm usually healing up as new ones are appearing and it's very discouraging. After literal years of kits, rxs, creams, scrubs, gels, oils, old wives remedies, lotions, etc...I decided to start completely over from scratch and do a little more research, especially now that there is more available over the counter. I literally threw or gave everything I had on my counter away. Sometimes you can have too many options and get lost in the advertising, etc... I wanted an inexpensive, simple regime to clean up my face. I've realized I have fair, extremely sensitive, acne prone combination skin. This means just about anything I use will break me out and either over dry or turn me into an oil slick. Some advice for others with similar issues: If you have sensitive skin, don't use scrubs. They are worthless, unnecessary, and often times exacerbate the problem further. Find a gentle face wash that doesn't have acne treatment in it (unless it's the only acne treatment avenue you are using). It doesn't really stay on the skin long enough to penetrate and be effective. But you still need something simple and gentle to wash the impurities off twice a day. Over washing will also do more harm than good. Invest in blotting sheets. But you'll find the kinder you are to your skin, over time the less you will need them. As for cleansers, be sure it is one specifically targeted for sensitive skin. Find an acne treatment that is for sensitive skin too. I had used many in the past (mostly in kits). I've made the mistake in the past of putting on various types of acne treatments; at times not realize one cancels out the other, or causes more irritation than good. Usually, the main ingredient in these popular kits is benzoyl peroxide in varying concentrations. I've found with sensitive skin, BP, isn't effective regardless of how low the %. And in many kits they tend to mix both BP and SA, which I've found don't help sensitive skin. So I ventured to Salicylic Acid only. Used to be you could only get it in 2% or higher. Thankfully, it's now found in 0.5-1%. This particular Stridex for Sensitive is only 0.5% which I've found so far has been extremely effective. Tried the 1% version of Stridex Natural and felt I best start with the lowest first and work my way up. I've been especially satisfied so far with the 0.5%. Because my skin is especially fair and sensitive anything can dry it out. The problem is because I have combination skin; the moment I get too dry, it combats that by immediately flaking or getting super oily within an hour or so after cleansing; which either way (too dry or too oily) will cause a breakout to occur. Anyway, so I wash with a gentle cleanser, pat my face dry and apply one of these morning & night. I allow the medication to sit on my skin for a couple of minutes and pat dry any access. Then I apply a light moisturizer (once again especially made for sensitive skin). During the day I'm sure to wear one with a high spf. Everyone really should. But I've found that is all it takes. I usually need to reapply a little more moisturizer a couple of minutes after to keep from drying out, but my skin is adjusting. It has been really difficult to find something that I can use that doesn't turn my skin bright red and itches and burns all day long. This product is the best I've been able to find, especially considering the price. It is very drying but that's okay because I've been using a sunblock that is a little greasy feeling so they sort of balance eachother out. I don't think it's possible to use this product without using a moisturizer immediately after. I have a bathroom cabinet filled with products that don't work and I've never tried again. So the fact that I am buying this again speaks volumes to me. Comments about Stridex Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe, 90 ea: I have been using this product for years and love it. I have mild to moderate adult acne with blackheads and everything else I've tried dries out my skin. Since this product is alcohol free it works great for combination skin like mine. Probably not for severe acne. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 4/23/2008 My adult acne has become ... By Anonymous from Undisclosed Comments about Stridex Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe, 90 ea: My adult acne has become so much better since using these pads... the % of acid is very low so it doesn't irritate your skin so much... combine it with clean and clear benzoyl wash and you will have better skin! Im very happy with this product and I've tried EVERYTHING for my adult acne (I also switched to sea salt vs. regular salt and eat less seaweed- two triggers for my acne). All of this combined to give me much better skin. Good luck Was this review helpful? Comments about Stridex Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe, 90 ea: I'm sorry to say that I was a big fan of Stridex Power Pads, but they stopped carrying them in drugstores so I had to switch. I moved to the Aloe product and it completed sucked any moisture out of my face. My face is quite sensitive and oily, and this product made my face so dry that I had excess skin. I used the product for about a month and then I started breaking out with the strangest pimples I have ever seen! I haven't broken out for about 3 years, except for the random zit, but I had big pimples all over my face! I would NOT recommend this product if you are not used to using an astringent on your face. I am finally ordering my Power Pads again and hoping that they will help bring back my face to some kind of normalcy. (1 of 2 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Stridex Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe, 90 ea: I LOVE these pads. They work very well and seem to last forever. Most medicated pads leave my face very dry, tight, and irritated. These are soothing, clear up my skin and leave it feeling a little bit moisturized.
