This gel works wonderfully for my fine 2C/3A waves/curls. I usually use Samy Curl Reactivator first, then a gel...so I did the same with this spray gel. For the price, it does a better job of curl formation/ hold and control than many higher priced gels I've tried. I've had great hair days with this gel. My only complaint is that the pump does not work well. Luckily I have three bottle, so if one does not want to spray, another one will.

I have used other Suave products before and have loved them especially for the price. This product just didn't cut it for me. It didn't help my curls or my frizz, and left my hair feeling heavy. It was disappointing and I've moved on to other products that work better for my hair. It may work better for other people, just not for me.

The bottle of Captivating Curls Spray Gel urges me to compare it to Redken Fresh Curls. Unlike Suave's other "compare this to" products, this gel doesn't even have the same, or a similar fragrance to its salon model. Fresh Curls Curl Boost is more of a spray liquid, while Captivating Curls is closer to a gel consistency. On wet hair, Capitvating Curls may as well be more water on my hair; it does nothing. However, on dry hair as a "curl boost" and a refresher, it's pretty good. It does restore curls from frizz and flatness, and it has some hold. It gets a little crispy, but it scrunches easily, leaving hair soft, but defined. I'm not sure I'm getting much of a deal with this, though, because I have to use a LOT of it to have any effect. Also, it contains none of the botanicals present in Fresh Curls, so it's not very moisturizing for me. It needs to be reapplied every couple of hours or it completely disappears. Perhaps it works better in conjunction with other products from this line, and for the price, I'll probably give the Captivating Curls Conditioner a try, one of these days.

Tried this when loreal tightly wound became unavailable. Not as good, but nothing wrong with it for the price. Better than other spray gels I've tried.

I wanted this to work so much. Suave had this (healthy curls) before and discontinued it - I swear the old formula was much better. This seemingly new formula doesn't quite cut it for my hair. It smells fantastic, has a very easy to grip and spray bottle. But the issue was... it just didn't work. It didn't seem to tame my flyaways at all or give more curl control. If you like SUave and their budget friendly products you won't go broke trying this. But I honestly wouldn't suggest this to my girlfriends.

I use this product every morning, on wet/damp hair. I was hoping for more of a match to the KMS product, but it does not work nearly as well. It does cost much less than KMS. So, for the value it is passable, but I would like to see the product improved. There is not a noticable smell once in styled hair.
