My Dr. has prescribed various medications for me, including narcotics. but they don't work for me. Instead, I feel like I have a hangover from those medications. It's the only thing that can knock out a really bad case of sinus congestion, whether it is from allergies or a cold. The downside to this formulation is that it may keep you awake for a while at night, but I usually take Benadryl at night, so that isn't a problem. The trick to this medicine at night is drink a full 8oz of water after taking it. If I didn't, I stayed up for a few hours. Drink lots of water and stick to every 12 hours. You will get relief fast! I had a sinus lift in preparation for dental implants, and the doctor told me to take Sudafed after the surgery while I healed. I used this product for 10 days. Sudafed 12 Hour Decongestant worked great. The advantage is that you need to take only one tablet and it lasts for 12 hours. Not like similar products that last only 4-6 hours at most. Sudafed helps clear nasal passages and helps you breathe easier. The only drawback is that is tends to make me a bit shaky, although the shakiness is not consistent over the 12-hour period. But most decongestants do this. Some more than others. I'd definitely recommend this product to my friends and family. For over-the-counter allergy relief, I always turn to Sudafed.
