I am a dark brunette and get to a lighter dishwater blonde using this. I mentioned waiting on my order the other day and a colleague noted that she didn't realize I colored. I've also been asked what color I use to get it such a nice blonde. Due to the nature of the product, you get not a "flat blonde", but natural tones and highlights all with a few sprays and a blow-drier! I have strawberry blonde hair and normally pay upwards of $250 for highlights. I have used similar products before. In my opinion, if you use it sparigly and it achieves a great result. I use it 2-3 times every 3-4 months and deep condition and treat my hair well in meantime, it looks like I got a bit of sun and gives my hair a bit of a brighter look, I use very very little. Ok, so it is perfect salon hair but it is very very close and saves me over 1K per year. Cons Best Uses Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: My hair is naturally ash blonde, but I'm a lifeguard & spend a lot of time in the sun, so my hair lightens considerably in the summer. Sun-In was actually recommended to me years ago by my stylist as an inexpensive way to blend in my darker roots in the fall & winter. He suggested using a leave-in conditioner during the application process to protect from damage. (I use a hair-dryer, but the conditioner can also be used out in the sun.)

Best Uses Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I love this product. I tried all the ways to get my hair lighter naturally. My hair is a jet black color and this worked great on me! I got this darn brown golden color, that looks very natural. I loved it, and I don't think that it smells as bad as people say it does. It was only 4 dollars at my local store because it was on sale, but it's usual about 5 dollars. It's MUCH cheaper than risking a hairdye because my hair is so dark. The one thing that I didn't like was that I got to keep reapplying and repeating the who process because the color didn't come out right away. Also, it leaves your hair very rough and brittle.

Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I would suggest this product to anyone except people who have pure black hair, such as Asians or African Americans. My hair has black strands, but also has brown and light brown. I used this for the first time when I was a teenager and it gave me beautiful highlights. It affected each type of hair I have differently and turned some hairs blond, some brown, and some red. Overall, it just looked kind of chestnut brown.

Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I used this product as a teenager in the seventies and my hair came out a little orange back then. I just bought it for my 16 year old daughter and the formulation hasn't seemed to improve much--she ended up looking a little brassy too.....not bad tho, she likes it. There is a gel product called "Beach Blonde" which works better.

Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I love sun-in sooooo much! It's a great product!!! My hair is naturally a light/medium brown color, and I've been getting highlights from expensive salons for years. My mom was tired of paying for it so she bought me some sun-in and said that she used to use it when she was a teenager and it workes great. I've sprayed it in my hair before blow-drying about 4-5 days in and i loooove the results!!! My hair turned this really pretty medium blonde color and it has golden-ish and even some red-ish tints to it...it's awesome! All my friends keep commenting on it and everyone loves it!!!

Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I have naturally very dark brown (almost black in the winter) hair and have been lightening my hair with bleach for a while now. I decided to try this product to see if I could do something about my overgrown roots, and hopefully get away with not touching up for a longer period of time. I read some reviews, and was aware that this product is known to turn dark hair orange, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway, and was amazed with the results! (I can't say I like the smell, though)Just one application (with a bit of heat from a hair dryer) takes my hair to a caramel blondish color with no apparent damage at all! This was a surprise because I was expecting my hair to go red or orange, or even not lighten at all, since my natural hair is so dark, but the color turns out a very natural looking, creamy caramel with subtle golden highlights.Admittedly, I do have to use a lot (and frequently) since I use it on my whole head, but at [$] dollars a bottle, the results can't be beaten! I wish I knew about this earlier, it would have saved me so much money and saved my hair a lot of damage!I'm ditching the other stuff and will definitely be buying this again!

Comments about Sun-In Hair Lightener, Tropical Breeze, 4.7 fl oz: I don't use this on me. My hair is too dark. Really the only this it is perfect for is people who have blond hair already and want a few highlights. Don't tell, but I use it on my daughter. I wet her hair down telling her it will keep her cool outside, and then spray that on strategically. You can do it just on the top, just on the sides. Its really great, and the grow out is so natural. I only do it in the summer, because that is when she would be in the pool, (if she liked the pool!!) So there it is. My little secret.!! I guess it would be great for teenagers too, but most adult have to dar of hair, and it WILL turn your hair raid!!
