Doctors usually write prescriptions for ferrous sulfate as a supplement and I have found that ferrous sulfate is hard on the stomach and often causes severe constipation. This product is easy on the stomach and does not seem to cause any other problems. WARNING: You must keep this out of the reach of children. I bought it this time to share with a friend who had undergone gastric bypass surgery and was having a bad time tolerating the ferrous sulfate. I highly recommend this product! I switched to this one as a low cost alternative to more expensive brands. After about eight weeks I was almost ready to pass out from low iron levels. I decided it must be the supplement and when I took another hard look at it I noticed that the dosage was two tablets for one dose (a little bit deceptive since most supplements are marketed as one tablet per dose), and that it is combined with calcium which is considered an iron absorption inhibitor. No wonder it's gentle on the stomach- it's hardly any iron at all. I had to immediately switch back to a different brand at the highest OTC dosage and am feeling much better (energetic, healthier) after a week. It does not upset my stomach or constipate me as so many others do. It is gentle on my system. On top of all that, it is inexpensive. I highly recommend this to anyone needing iron supplements. Pros

I was wrong. This is a great product and is working perfectly to raise my iron levels. Pros
