I take one daily to protect myself due to increased exposure to sick people at work. Zinc is best absorbed inside the mouth vs swallowing whole pill. These are fairly tasty and easy to use.

I got these because I have been impressed with every vitamin supplement I have purchased from Sundown and because my doctor suggested Zinc as a way to help me combat the frequent colds I get from working a job where I am constantly in direct contact with the general public. He said that for most people, taking Zinc sublingually (by mouth) was more effective than swallowing a tablet. Considering I take so many other pills/vitamins during the day for other medical conditions, the idea of not swallowing one more pill was refreshing.
So far, so good. Recently there was a bad cold virus going around among my coworkers and for once, I didn't contract it. Do I know if this is directly because of the zinc lozenges? Not necessarily, but it certainly didn't hurt.
As far as the taste goes- are these going to replace my favorite hard candies? Certainly not, but the taste is ok considering what it is. It is a fruit flavor similar to Juicy Fruit gum, and as long as you let the lozenge DISSOLVE the way it is supposed to and don't give in to the urge to bite it, you barely notice any flavor at all. If you bite it and chew it, it IS a pretty nasty, chalky texture which tastes kinda, well, vitaminy (sp.?). But take it like you are supposed to and it's not half bad. It seemed to be pretty soothing to my throat as well. Another quality purchase from Sundown at a great price. Very satisfied.

I started taking these five years ago - once a day for two weeks, stop for two weeks, then on again. Since then I haven't had a bout of bronchitis - which used to land me in the ER every winter. I wouldn't be without them, and recommend anyone who wants to boost their immune system to give this product a try.

The aftertaste can linger- you let the lozenge melt in your mouth, and some people should eat something prior as it might upset your stomach.

This is an inexpensive and effective way to stay healthy.
