First let me say that I would only recommend doing your own brazillian after you have had at least a few done professionally. I have been getting these done for years, so I've seen (and felt) how the wax is applied and removed from the more challenging areas. That helped a lot! As for the product itself, this is the best result that I have had from a brazillian. I used to get terrible breakouts and ingrowns with professional bikini waxes, even with hard wax. Doing this myself, I get only a few, if any. It makes me wonder if a lot of the breakouts were related to bacteria in the wax and on the esthetician's hands in salons (YUCK!!!). I'm a nurse, and this thought really bothers me. I'll continue doing this myself for sanitary reasons!

Supplies I use:
2 jars Surgiwax Brazillian
1 tube hydrocortisone cream (over the counter maximum strength)
Cheap wooden spoons
Old bath or beach towel

Why 2 kits?
It is hard to get the last 1/3 or so of the product from the jar. I usually end up using 2 jars per waxing because of this.

Why hydrocortisone?
I also find it very helpful to buy a tube of hydrocortisone cream and apply it liberally to the entire area after waxing. This really decreases breakouts.

Why cheap wooden spoons?
When heating, use the handle of a wooden spoon that you can throw out to stir the wax. I bougt a 3 pack at the grocery store for around $2 and I just throw one away each time. At first this wax will be very hard to stir, and I broke my spread sticks trying to stir it the first time. Then I tried a metal spoon. The wax hardened onto the metal spoon and even boiling wouldn't remove it. The wooden spoon handle works much better.

Why an old towel?
You need something you don't care about to sit on. Some of the wax will get on the floor no matter how careful you are, and it does not wash out of anything! Use an old towel to protect your floor or furniture.

Shower in warm, NOT hot, water, just before waxing, and wash the entire bikini area in a good cleanser (either an antibacterial body wash or a natural purifying cleanser). DO NOT shower again for at lest 6 hours, or you will break out. Also, don't exfoliate the area for 2 days, then gently exfoliate every time you shower thereafter. This will help keep you from getting ingrowns between waxings.

Have the microwave right next to you, if possible (I dragged mine into the bedroom since there are other people in my house). You have to reheat this product often.

Read the directions completely and follow them! The really do show you the best way to do this.

Absolutely trim the hair to 1/4". I think clippers work best, but you can do it with scissors, too. Any longer than that and not only is it painful, but the hair won't pull out, and you are left with trying to cut the wax out of the hair. Wax removers won't work on this product, or any hard wax.

Use the oil that is included in the box. It really helps. This is another reason to buy 2 kits ... the bottle of oil is tiny and runs out fast.

I personally drink a glass or two of wine before I start this. By the time I reach the most sensitive areas, it doesn't hurt quite as much! If you don't drink, you can take a pain reliever such as you normally take for a headache around an hour before you start. This helps a lot!

Those are my tips. Even with the extra kit and the other supplies, doing this myself saves me around 65 dollars compared with salon prices in my area, and I get better results. Good luck!

I have had so many professional brazilian waxes over the years, I can literally fall asleep through one. To save some cash, I figured I should give at-home waxing a shot. I initially got the Gigi Honee wax with mueslin strips and that did a great job at painlessly getting off all the frontal hair. Unfortunately it is unforgivingly sticky (and doesn't wash off easily), which made it difficult to work with on the "undercarriage." I looked online and found plenty of good reviews about hard wax, so I figured I would give it a shot.

This product is inexpensive, and that is where the positives end. I tested it out on my inner thigh and it picked up one hair at best. I tried again and this time it fell apart when I picked at it, even though I only waited a few seconds! That involved me painfully picking at it to remove the wax from the hairs, and even with the oil it was difficult. I gave it another half-hour of trials on different parts of my body, trying to perfect the technique....nothing! And on the few occasions where it grabbed hair, it was like pulling them out one by one with rusty tweezers.

I threw the 98% full container out immediately....I am assuming that those that are posting rave reviews are not actually yanking from underneath? I don't know, but I would never pick up this product again!

Comments about SurgiCare Brazilian Waxing Kit for Private Parts, 4 oz:

I have been doing my own brazilian waxing for years, and I have super sensitive skin. Hard wax is best for the bikini+ areas. I agree with another review saying that it's best to have it done professionally before trying to do-it-yourself.
READ THE DIRECTIONS - it will save you time and spare you a lot of pain. The directions say to apply the oil before waxing - the wax still sticks to the hairs and does not take a layer or two of skin off at the same time. However, nothing is perfect so expect that not all hairs will easily come out (not even when paying $75 at a salon). One last item - not all jars of Surgi are the same. Some are fantastic some you toss after a few tries - most are good though.

Comments about SurgiCare Brazilian Waxing Kit for Private Parts, 4 oz:

You have to work fast applying it as it goes from scalding hot to perfect to too cool fairly quickly. I wish they incuded a bit more of the pre-wax oil, but otherwise this is the best for bikini wax I've used. It gets all the hair in one pull and leaves your skin smooth and intact.

This is the first wax for me. It is easy to use. It took about 2-3 minutes to heat and melt the wax. The good things are no strip needed and it removes hairs effectively. One negative point was that it hurts when stripping the wax.

Comments about SurgiCare Brazilian Waxing Kit for Private Parts, 4 oz:

This is the least uncomfortable method of private part waxing. I hate having to wax but this is the way to go for stubborn coarse hair and delicate skin areas. It's not as messy if you're careful, and it doesn't stick to your skin when used with the pretreat oil that comes with it. Will buy more

Comments about SurgiCare Brazilian Waxing Kit for Private Parts, 4 oz:

Hard wax is the best to use for coarse hair! It's much more effective at gripping hairs than soft wax and no strips are needed. Why have they stopped selling this or any hard wax in stores?! I remember surgi wax made another formula for a very short time--it was plastic like. This was actually better because it did not stick to the skin which did not leave residue and made it a lot less painful. Just use a very thin layer of pre epilation oil or even coconut oil. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties. Powder alone or even a bit over the oiled area is great too. Overall, this formula is the next best thing.

Comments about SurgiCare Brazilian Waxing Kit for Private Parts, 4 oz:

This product works great to get all the hair and when used with the preepilation oil it doesn't stick to the skin at all. But do be sparse with it because if you use too much oil, the wax won't grab ahold. The only downside to this stuff is that the wax is hard to get heated up completely so it hardens back up quickly. I'm not sure how you are supposed to do a complete brazilian with the stuff. I only did my bikini line and little further in and I almost used the entire container. I'm not sure how I feel about this product. It did such a good job of getting all the hair but it sure is a hassle to work with.

Best bikini area wax we've found - very effective, but has a narrow window of use. It goes from too hot, to perfect, to too cool to spread quickly.
