I've used many different fax waxes, but Surgi Face Wax is the best. It's economically priced and it DOES the job. A month or so ago I think Surgi changed the formula (the packaging, the price and the color of the wax is different, the new color is green) and I didn't like it as much as this one. If Surgi cancels this product (as seen here) then I will look again for another Face Wax, but if it continues to manufacture this one, I will continue to buy it. This one heats up quickly, lasts longer, is not as messy as the "new" one and works much better. I really like this product and I hope Surgi doesn't change it! IF it stays as it is, I would and have, recommended it friends and family. If it discontinues this one and only sells the newer one, I would not recommend it.

so i'm a salon girl, but upon becoming pregnant with my second child had to try and curb spending, so i decided to try this at home wax kit. i baught this brand because as a young teen used this brand for waxing other areas. well needless to say i was terribly dissapointed!! first, it took FOREVER to heat, once it finially did heat up, i tried to was my eyebrows, and upper lip, the wax is terribly stringy, and ended up in places it didnt need to be. so after a strip of my eyebrow being waxed off..... yeah, i was none too pleased. so i switched to a different brand that i purchased at a professional beauty supply store.... now i have great eyebrows!!

Comments about SurgiCare Wax Hair Remover For Face, 1 oz:

I have used this for 15 years on a weekly basis for my eyebrows and upper lip. Recently I have also used it on my bikini line. It heats in the microwave, applies without mess, is easy to remove, gets almost all the hair, and causes minimal pain/redness/irritation. It only takes me about 5 minutes to wax upper lip and eyebrows weekly including heating time. Bikini line takes a lot longer, but I only do it about once/month. The formulation has changed a couple times since I started using it, but after a while I get used to it and still like it.

    Some tips:
    1) Microwave until the liquid is thin, but then let cool until it will not burn the skin and thickens enough to not drip when applying.
    2) Apply in a THICK layer to aid in removal; if too thin, it will break up upon removal.
    3) Don't leave on skin for too long or it will harden and break apart upon removal. Apply, then touch to evaluate stickiness. If wax does not stick to finger, tear off immediately (even if still warm). If it's too thin to tear off, give it a couple more seconds, but don't wait until it's hard!
    4) If the area is new to waxing, be ready with an ice cube wrapped in a paper towel to apply to the waxed area along with some pressure. This keeps the blood from rushing into the skin in that area causing swelling/redness. Surgi also has some redness alert cream, some wax removal cream and some preparation cream but I find I rarely if ever need any of those.
    5) For me the best time to wax is prior to my shower as I find any redness/swelling is gone by the time I get out of the shower, but I have been doing this for 15 years and my skin has adjusted to waxing.

The only negative side effects I have are occasional very mild acne in the waxing area, sometimes mild burns on my thin brow skin if I put the wax on too hot, and rarely some hair is missed, but I just reapply to that area or take out my tweezers for touch-ups.

I do a lot of facial waxing and with my coarse hair this product gets the job done without any breakouts. Just bought 5 since I can't seem to find it on the shelves anymore - go figure. Yes, it can get messy, but it comes off with warm water or you can peel the residue off easily it you apply a bit of rubbing alcohol to area.

I had used this for years, then tried strips again. Bad choice the didn't work. This product is the best price for a realistic wax, at least for my face. I recommend it.

Comments about SurgiCare Wax Hair Remover For Face, 1 oz:

This is my first time ever using any type of wax. So maybe it's from lack of experience that this didn't work out for me.

What I didn't like was how messy it was. I used this for my eyebrows and upper lip. It was extremely difficult for me to get the wax to cover the area I needed it to, and it would harden up too quickly and get almost "stringy" and stiff.
I also didn't like how it didn't remove the hair that well either. It did ok with the eyebrows, but not so much the upper lip. I ended up throwing the wax out after about the 4th time using it. It's easier for me to just pluck and shave.

I wouldn't not recommend this though. It's affordable, so try it if you want. It's not really a big loss if it doesn't work out.

This does need much more heating than directions call for and will not break off if used as directed.NO need to wash off if all dried wax is removed properly. Takes off fine and more coarse hairs. Used witch hazel after waxing and does not irritate my sensitive skin. I'm fine with it!!!

Had to come back and review after using because of negative reviews stating "breaks off", etc. It does NOT break of unless you're using it improperly. i.e leaving it on too long or not removing according to directions. I was amazed at all the tiny invisible, fine hair it removed. Yes, it has to be heated longer than suggested. But the results are terrific!! Used another brand for a long time and this is much better>>>Product gets 5*, but independent shipper horrible...

I followed the directions, but it broke when I tried to peel it off. It was nearly impossible to remove the rest of it, and I ended up with very irritated skin where I tried using it (under one of my eyebrows), probably due to the difficulty I had in removing it. The area was red and very swollen the next day, and it took several days for the skin to heal. Meanwhile, it was red and peeling and painful. I will say that I do have very sensitive skin, but sensitive skin didn't cause the product to break in the first place or make it so difficult to remove.
