The new swiffer wet jet pads are much thicker and I cleaned my kitchen, hallway and half bath with only one pad! Also, the floors dried within minutes. First, this product was recommended by a person who owns a cleaning business. I was so excited to get it as my laminate floors suck for getting them clean! I have Alloc Santos Mahogany laminate in the living room, hallway and master bedroom. They NEVER look/get clean. I tried laminate floor cleaner, but not their recommended (re:own) brand. I called the company about this and they said to try mineral spirits-now 4 dogs and 1 cat plus us means I am not going to use paint thinner on my flooring. They said the warranty would not be voided, but I am afraid to try it. So, I tried several other methods such as Pine Sol recommended by a friend who has the same floor brand. No luck, still looked dirty. When I assembled the Wet Jet, I had the multi purpose cleaner that came in the starter pack. I prepped by vacuuming then sweeping because our yard is cinder and the dust collects. Imagine my surprise when I was only able to do one small area of the living room before the pad was useless! I know I will be spending a fortune in pads and the second one is already needing to be tossed. I would recommend the Wet Jet for ceramic tile floors, but NOT for Laminate Floors, unless it is just my bad luck with the Alloc flooring. Comments about Swiffer WetJet Cleaning Pad Refills: I can't do without the swiffer and have been a loyal customer for years. However the quality of these pads has undoubtedly gone down. They used to be much more absorbent and the weave on the surface much more superb at trapping lint, dust and debris. The material has changed and now it doesn't really trap much at all it just moderately collects it and pushes it around. This is sad and I end up having to use twice as many pads for one job but so far I haven't been able to find a replacement tool that's as easy to use.
