My hair is very fine, very thick, and as curly as a corkscrew. Fine curly hair tangles easily, and I find it best to detangle while conditioning. I cut my hair only when neccessary to remove damaged ends; the longer the hair, the less frizz. I have broken shower brushes or combs from other manufacturers.Swissco products work well & don't cost much.To avoid mildew, rinse with very hot water, force water out by pressing the cushion hard, then dry flat on a small towel, bristles down.

This would be perfect if the internal section was just waterproof (or SOLID), rather than having 2 drain holes (aka FILL holes) for soap, moisture and water to enter). Once all of those ingredients are inside the unsealed bristle area, they start to form a nice fungus-laden soap scum slurry, which is promptly delivered to your scalp the next time you use it.

You can lay it flat on something to (TRY to) drain some of it out, but good luck getting it all. Doing this also makes the hanging rope they include (which would otherwise be useful) pointless.

There's no doubt in my mind a computer programmer was involved with the design of this thing. "Should we solve the problem fully and make it waterproof?"... "Nah, what we'll do is mediate the issue with the least effort possible; we'll just add drain holes".

Maybe i'll just try injecting that area with some silicone or something to make this a bit more hygenic and useful of a product.

The product is easy to use and sturdy so the bristles don't break as in other scalp massagers. With my perm, it helps detangle my hair but is gentle.

Comments about Swissco Deluxe Scalp Massage Shampoo Brush, 1 ea:

Due to prolonged health issues, I began having a problem where my head constantly itched. I have fine hair & I noticed after shampooing, I was also seeing more than usual amount of hair falling out. I also noticed a small bump on my scalp. My hairdresser told me she thought I was getting dry scalp & recommended dandruff shampoo. Since I had never had a problem with any of these issues before, I decided to see my dermatologist. I was concerned more about the bump, than the itchy scalp, since I had previous skin cancer surgeries, of which several were around my head area, and I wanted to rule that out. She told me I had developed a small cyst on my head & the "itchy scalp" was caused from several reasons. She told me that she could remove the cyst surgically, but recommended that I should first try using a scalp brush for the scalp itch & also try a "drawing salve" for the cyst. She recommended Perrigo Ichthammol 20% ointment for the cyst. I purchased both from your site and received them in the mail today. I was worried that the scalp brush would be too harsh for the area where the cyst was, but she assured me that the brush would be beneficial for that area too and should not cause me any discomfort. Only time will tell how the ointment will help (will review that later), but after one use with this scalp brush, my scalp feels so much better and it doesn't itch, like it normally does after shampooing. The bristles are soft & rubbery in texture, gentle on the scalp, but effective. I will continue to use both products and hopefully will be able to get rid of both problems and avoid surgery to remove the cyst.

I used it to brush my hair and massage my sensitive scale after taking shower. I first apply oil and massage my scale with my hands for a while then I gently use the brush to massage my scale for a minus. Instead of using my fingers to scratch my scale which makes my dry and itchiness scale becomes worse, I took the advises from friends- using the brush to activate blood vessels and hair roots to prevent hair losing (since I scratch my scale too much) . The brush is soft; it does not hurt my scale. I feel good and no more itchiness after using it . I would buy it as gifts to my friends!

I was excited to get this product b/c of the good reviews, but am disappointed in it. I was looking for something to feel good on my scalp like a massage but this thing hurt. Maybe it is not meant for me b/c of my super fine, thin hair. I kept it and keep trying it but I can't even use it. Glad it wasn't expensive. Again, maybe it's just not for me and works well for others with long, thicker hair. For me, it was a waste.
