One ball for each hand if removing nail enamel (maybe 3 for a dark red/heavily pigmented color). These are more expensive than other brands, but considering the quality, well worth it. Plus if you're putting product right on your skin, organic, sterile applicators is the obvious way to go. Re: the reviewer who said these scratched her face, that is so bizzare. Maybe you have a cotton allergy? And to the one who said touching cotton balls is like running nails down a chalkboard... Woah - sounds like some kind of synesthetic bad acid trip... Not laughing _at_ you, exactly just... astounded! Anyhow, the product is highly recommended. I will never buy regular cotton balls again! You don't have to pull on your skin to get make up off with these. I never write reviews on ANYTHING, and here I am reviewing cotton balls (I think that says a lot!). Once I tried these I knew I needed to. I also love that I'm supporting organic farming and a U.S. product! Highly recommend!! Pros

I would have gotten the Maxim cotton balls, but the description did not say where the Maxim cotton balls are produced so I opted for the Swisspers instead because it states where the cotton balls are made. I have preferred Maxim and other brands to Swisspers, but the Swisspers cotton balls work well enough; if only they were improved, that would be great! Also, the price, especially while on sale, is great! :) Pros
