What I thought were allergies, turned out to be 'chronic dry eyes'....ophthalmologists recommended Systane and BOY what a difference these drops made. After one application the itchy, red, 'sand in my eye' feeling was gone...that was 3 years ago and I'm still using these drops. Wonderful product!

I have about six different brands of eye drops in my bathroom right now and have tried everthing on the market over the past eight years during which I've had severely dry eyes. All I can say is that these are great. They *are* preservative-free if you are actually buying the product that is shown on this page. The reviewer below must have purchased Systane Ultra in the multiple use bottle which does contain preservatives - all bottled drops do even if they say the preservative "disappears on contact with the eye". If you haven't tried these yet, you really should.

Systane in vials is preservative-free product and, therefore, can be used many times a day as needed, which is very useful for those who have a severe Dry Eye syndrome. I find Systane in vials one of the best products I have ever used over long period of time.

Just to alert those who need preservative-free drops. This drop is included in search results for preservative-free drops. Check the ingredients, Systane Ultra contains preservative while the systane Lubricant does not.

tried Thera tears liquid gel, Genteal severe dry eye, AMO blink tears, Refresh Celluvisc, Tears Naturale, Optive, Refresh PM, Soothe XP

this is the best, cheap, overall soothing tear drops for sensitive eyes.

all they really do is moisturize. not particularly sticky (gel), but the best for sensitive eyes.

in terms of effect, the thera tears are the best combined with amo blink tears alternating. they're hypotonic and hypertonic.

then the celluvisc is the 2nd best overall.

soothe xp is the most powerful in terms of lubrication but it covers your eyesight with a glassy film for a few minutes because of the mineral oil

Preservative-free product is nice. However, you have to use one vial per day and the package only gives you 24 vials, one week short of a month. Expensive!!!!!
