Warnings

Do not use:
if you have trouble swallowing
with other acid reducers

theophylline (oral asthma medicine)
warfarin (blood thinning medicine)
phenytoin (seizure medicine)
If you are not sure you are taking one of these medicines, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Stop use and ask a doctor if:

you need to take this product for more than 14 days

If you NEED Prilosec on a daily basis or your stomach starts burning then just buy Prilosec. I was lured by the low price and the reviews from others that said they used it and were happy with the results. I'm not happy. I tried to use it for three days. It was useless. I ended up chewing several Tums by dinnertime each night. When I miss my morning dose of Prilosec I have burning by 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Tagamet is worthless - in my case. It is a completely different medicine and this one does not work for me.

My M.D. prescribed Tagamet for me decades ago. Although in higher dosis, but today I use it on a daily regimen to combat stomach acid and avoid further erosion. Tagamet is by far a better product than any other out there. As soon as I take it, it relieves any uncomfortness my stomach is experiencing at the moment.

I have tried I think all of the anti-acid products including Prilosec which is now available in generic and over counter and which I think is not one whit better than Tagament. Higher prices I have found out do not necessarily mean that that product is better than the lower priced ones. Rather than wasting my money on Prilosec, I stick with Tagament; price lower but in my estimation just as good or even better.

I was on Protonix and lost my insurance. The is just as good, if not better. I take it before bedtime for reflux, but it can be taken anytime to also prevent acid. I would buy this again and say this is a great product. I was on this as a prescription several years ago and it was taken off my insurance list due to cost. The product price has really dropped, but the quality is the same.
