This tampon was horrible. I really like the original Pearl and after trying Kotex compact I decided to try the brand I'm used to. Big mistake! This tampon is made so cheap, it pulls apart before you are able to insert it. I had to "repair" four of them. When I was able to insert the tampon, it elongates and eventually pokes out of the body making it very uncomfortable. I also had to run home on my lunch because of the accident I had in my jeans. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER purchase this product again.

the compact size of these are just all too convenient. if a boy happens to see them in your purse he probably wont even recognize that its a tampon, which makes getting it out of your purse to go to the bathroom in the middle of class a lot less awkward. great for fitting in small purses and pockets! & they work just as well as any other regular flow tampon.

I really like these tampons. I've tried o.b., Playtex Sport, Playtex Gentle Glide, and Tampax Pearl, and these are the only ones I'll stick with. They're comfortable, come in cute colors, and are small enough that they'll fit in my pocket. Thank you, Tampax!

Don't understand the bad reviews...maybe some don't properly know how to use a tampon? Comfortable and discreet. What more could you ask for?

Bizarre reviews for these. I've been using them off and on for a few years now. My product use usually depends on what is most convenient for me. These fit great in my purse. Now that I'm out of school my bag has shrunk and a smaller tampon is a great help in keeping my bag size under control.
From reading the other reviews I think people are using these wrong. The only times I have had problems with these tampons is when I use them incorrectly by not inserting them in as far as they should be or by using a heavier grade than I need which causes dryness. And really those are problems that apply to any tampon.

These fit easily into your purse/pocket, so they're good for traveling. Please keep them away from the men-folk as they are often mistaken for candy.

I got a coupon in the mail for the new Compak style of Tampax, and I thought that I'd try it out. I'd been using o.b. for awhile (I like how enviornmentally friendly the packaging is), but I'm a student, and I go with the coupons.
First off, the "compact" packaging doesn't come apart as easily as advertised. I accidentally pulled apart the first tampon I tried to use (thankfully it wasn't too hard to put back together - maybe Tampax should advertise that). As well as being hard to unpackage, the aplicator is really flimsy in comparison to the normal Tampax Pearls (at least what I can remember). After strugling with the aplicator, I just took the tampon out and went old school. The fit was okay, but even the "lights" are pretty heavy (and that's a general Tampax thing).
After I finish the box, I'm going back to o.b.

I decided to use this product for my lighter days since I had heard that they didn't absorb as much as regular tampons. I tried it and it was very uncomfortable. They expand length-wise and seems to poke out of the vagina. I mostly use playtex sport which expands all around and are much more comfortable. I guess I have to find something else for my light days

Haha wow! I think people really don't read directions - ever! Not even on a new kind of tampons! LOL! Just fyi if anyone cares, 1. the applicator on these is compacted - it must be extended before use! 2. A tampon should be placed as high into the vagina as the applicator can help you get it. 3. Once holding applicator as high up (or far in if you prefer saying it that way) as you can, then and only then, push in on the applicator while HOLDING the outside portion of applicator. 4. This is definitely best illustrated in the directions that come with these.

I'd stopped using tampons quite a few years ago as I'd discovered that cramping was always worse when using then than when using pads by themselves. I tried these a little over a year ago and wow! They are so much nicer than the ol cardboard type! They insert smoothly, release onces inside smoothly, have a good string length and come in all sizes! What more could one want in a tampon!? These things are great!

On the cons side though - sometimes some sizes, specifically the lights and super plus, are VERY hard to find in stores! Also I think they are kind of expensive - maybe not so much compared to other tampons but definitely so compared to using just pads

I love the Tampax Compaks because unlike regular tampons, they can actually fit in my pockets. I don't like to take my whole bag to the bathroom and with these I don't need to.
