Why does this only get two stars overall from reviewers? I've been using these since I was 15 or 16 years old. That's over 20 years. What I love about them is that, unlike OB, they have an applicator. What I LOVE about the applicator is that it is biodegradable (read FLUSHABLE). Why anyone wants to touch that little metal box in the public restroom is beyond me. In the 20 years I've been using these, they have given them a "skirt" - oh, yes, the skirt does help with that leaking issue that would usually go down the string. As far as being discreet. . .really? Do you really thing I don't have a menstrual cycle? I'm of childbearing age and female - unless something is wrong, of course I have one. Who cares how discreet it is? Shove it down your bra in front and walk to the restroom to do your thing. No one will know. I will use these things all week long until I reach menopause!!!! Thank goodness Drugstore.com as them in larger boxes because my local stores don't carry these in more than 20 count. As if I'm not going to need more. . .

I feel totally cheated by Tampax and I'm writing in the hope that they monitor sites like these. I've used tampax for 25 years. Suddenly a few years ago, as lots of other customers have reported, they changed the design. The regular size in particular just isn't worth using. They absorb a fraction of what they used to and never seem to expand enough to prevent leaks. In fact, sometimes it seems like they start leaking before they are fully soaked! In any case I can't wear tampax tampons without a back-up panty liner. Also I often have trouble getting the inner tube to push upward and insert the tampon -- it seems stuck in the neck of the larger tube. I used another kind of tampons when I was much younger and at the time really preferred tampax -- they seemed so much more natural and with a more comfortable fit. But at this point, in my 40s, I'm going to start shopping around for a new brand. So sad.

Comments about Tampax Tampons with Cardboard Applicator, Regular, 40 ea, 1 pack:

They work well - I don't need any bells and whistles. I've been using these forever and will continue to do so until they force me out of them (this push towards plastic "pearl" applicators is aggravating). No complaints here.

Comments about Tampax Tampons with Cardboard Applicator, Regular, 40 ea, 1 pack:

I have used this product for 25 years now and love the new design. I hate the plastic applicator ones - tried one time and it pinched - OUCH. Needless to say, I only used this product from then on. When my daughter is old enough to start using tampons, then I will definately have her use these. As for discreet - really? It's a tampon, non of them are discreet and as soon as you remove a wrapper from any of the brands, the person in the next stall knows its your time lol. Who cares? Maybe bc I am older, I guess in junior high it would have bothered me, but now days it doesn't seem like a big deal to young girls.

Comments about Tampax Tampons with Cardboard Applicator, Regular, 40 ea, 1 pack:

These are my go to brand. I lke the cardboard applicator vs. plastic for environmental reasons. Very rarely, th applicator gets stuck and I have to toss. The only other issue is that these are not as discreet in a purse since they are longer than non-applicator or plastic tampons.

Comments about Tampax Tampons with Cardboard Applicator, Regular, 40 ea, 1 pack:

The changes to the entire product is horrible! I have used Tampax since 1967. The applicator used to be totally biodegradable and easy to use. The tampon used to be 100% cotton--absolutely is not now. The string works as a wick. They're very uncomforable. Strangely, the Super, for a heavier period, will do the job, but is still not comfortable. I'm very disappointed in Tampax, now.

Because of my birth control, I had not had my period for over 5 years. I purchased Tampax because it was what I used before, and I don't remember them being this bad. First, the applicators have been redesigned, and the grip is horrible. I've wasted a lot of them just because I can't get the applicator to release. Also, I agree with an another reviewer who stated that they always come out soaked as if the string acted as a wick. I always have to wear a liner because I have leaks all the time. I recently ordered another brand (OB), and they are awesome. I can't believe I put up with Tampax for a year before deciding to try something different.

They are very comfortable and there were no leaks but the applicator gets kind of slippery when you get your hands wet. I like the plastic applicators much better because they are easier to use.
