Silicone is phthalate free. You can recognize a toy with phthalates by the smell (if you can smell a toy, it is leaching chemicals). Toys made of "jelly" and other mystery materials use phthalates as plasticizers to soften an otherwise hard material. Most bodies react to phthalates as an allergy.
