If you use this within a few hours of contact you most likely will not get a rash. If you do get a rash, used every few hours, this will minimize the itching and speed healing time. The stuff is awesome.

This is a gritty scrub. At first, I watched my husband use it and scrub his PI rash pretty aggressively. I cringed at the thought of do that to my own PI rash since it's itchy/painful/blistery/delicate, but once I tried it - it hurt so good!!! And I learned quickly, that despite the method, it feels really productive and good to do. Then I was addicted and would use it 3-4 times a day! I'd sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and go scrub my arms - relief! We felt clean, itch-free, and it accelerated the healing process. RECOMMEND!!

Whenever I go hiking in the local mountains in Southern California, I'm fairly likely to end up with a raging case of poison oak. So after a hike I always come home and wash everywhere twice with this scrub. So far it's mostly worked. It's not 100% effective, but I have no doubt that it's lessened the irritation even when it hasn't completely gotten rid of it. I think it's far more effective than the traditional tecnu without the exfoliant.

This was recommended by a friend two years ago and now I swear by it.I am severely allergic and tecnu is the best I have ever used either to alleviate after onset or to help prevent if I touched it by accident.I do use it a few times a day maybe that is why it works so well.

I am intensely allergic to poison ivy and get it from my cats all spring, summer and fall. I am careful about exposure, but never know when the offending oil will be on an animal or furniture, etc. I use tecnu at the first sign of itch, even if not sure it's PI. It prevents the awful weeping and infection I used to get. Sometimes, it prevents the rash altogether. If I do get a rash, when I use it, it really does alleviate the itch and get the skin healing. It is often necessary to use it many times during a single outbreak, but it sure is better than alternatives. Zanfels is equally good, but so much more expensive!
