Don’t you love it when someone tells you “You smell great!” or asks “What perfume are you wearing? I have to get some!”? Layering is an easy way to make your fragrance last all day in a subtle, but not overpowering way. 

Fragrance layering involves at least two kinds of products in the same, similar, or complimentary scent. One of the easiest ways to layer is to combine perfumed body lotion and perfume of the same scent. However, you can layer on more scented products for longer lasting, all-day fragrance. 

Use a perfumed shower gel or bar soap in the shower for a light, fragrant base. Follow with a perfumed body cream or lotion to lock in moisture and enhance your scent. Using a moisturizer also keeps your skin from absorbing the bulk of the fragrance, which gives your scent real staying power. Next, apply eau de toilette, eau de parfum or concentrated perfume oil to pulse points (insides of wrists, sides of neck, elbow creases, behind knees, around ankles, and in cleavage). You can also finish with a perfumed deodorant to fight perspiration and guard against body odor. Just remember – a little goes a long way.
