Electric shavers are a conundrum for most men. The Braun 360 Degree Complete Premium Shaver comes with a base that both cleans and charges the shaver.  This shaver features a “power-comb” that lifts the hairs that lie flat to the skin, which prevents missed hairs in those hard to shave areas.  The head also adjusts to the contours of your face.  To clean this shaver, simply pop it into its base and push a button.  When the cleaning process is completed, the shaver will not only be clean, but fully charged as well.  The base uses a disposable cleaning solution cartridge.  Subsequent replacement cartridges can be purchased separately and depending on how often you shave, last around a month.  This shaver would work well for men on the go – just shave and then deposit the shaver into the base and go!  It will be all cleaned and charged for you the next morning.  This shaver is a mid-priced model – neither the least expensive nor the most expensive.  As it has been the #1 electric shaver in the U.S. for years, it would be a good bet for someone who wants a quality shave, but doesn’t feel like spending a fortune.

The Pulsonic is Braun’s latest and greatest shaver.  It uses sonic technology to pulse the shaver head.  This vibrates the skin, which loosens and raises those hairs which are often left behind.  The head also has a cross cutting action as the shaving foils and cutting blades move in opposite directions,which promises a quicker, more thorough shave.  This new shaver features an updated contour following system that allows the head to pivot and flex with your face even better than previous Braun shavers.  And, like other Braun shavers, it also features a self cleaning and charging base.  Unlike other Braun shavers, however, the Pulsonic can also be rinsed under tap water as it has watertight sealing.  That way, if you take the shaver on a trip, you won’t need to bring the base along with you.  This shaver is great for men who want the close shave of a regular razor.  Men who have tried the Pulsonic claim to have gone all day without getting that 5 o’clock shadow.  Additionally, with most electric shavers, you have to wait a couple days before you can shave again to get a close shave.  However, with the Pulsonic, many men say they can shave every day and get the same close shave.  The Pulsonic is a higher priced shaver, but for those who want new technology and a super close shave, this is the perfect choice!

Norelco’s latest addition, the arcitec, has a charging pod to store the razor in as well as a charging stand.  Its head flexes and pivots with the contours of your face and neck.  The head features three shaving tracks, which gives you even more shaving surface than other shavers.  It has dual blades, which lift hair to cut it below the skin level.  Instead of a fancy self cleaning unit, you can rinse the arcitec clean in seconds under the sink!  Men who have tried this shaver say that they are getting closer shaves in less time than with other shavers.  This is also a higher priced shaver, but may be worth it for frequent travelers.  You can store it in the charging pod and just rinse it off under the tap – ideal for vacations and business trips!

The Panasonic Vortex Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver boasts itself to be the fastest shaver around.  The 13,000 rpm shave gives you a frictionless, close shave.  It also has an adjustable pivoting head and its blades angle at 30 degrees to give you a more precise shave.  The shaver head has three blades, with the center one designed to cut the long and stray hairs on your face and neck.  As the name would attest, this shaver can be used wet or dry – so feel free to shave in the shower!  You can rinse it clean under the water or use the shaver’s water infused cleaning system.  The cleaning system cleans the stubble and debris from the heads and dries the blades.  Some men feel that the Vortex shaves as close as a razor and that the cleaning system makes every shave as good as the last.  The Vortex is low to mid-priced for an electric shaver.  Because the Vortex can be used in the shower or out and can be rinsed off or cleaned with a special solution, it would be a great choice for someone who needs some versatility in his shaver.

If you’re new to electric shavers, it’s important to remember that you might experience some razor burn the first few days as your face gets used to the shaver.  Additionally, it may take you a few weeks to get the technique of using the shaver down.  So, don’t give up on a particular model if it doesn’t work as well as you’d like right away!
