Mirrors for Use at Home
While your bathroom at home likely has a large mirror on the wall, you may find that you need other mirrors around the house to better accomplish your regular grooming regimen. Mirrors with their own stands might be placed on your bathroom counter or the vanity where you apply makeup so that you can get up close to the mirror and better see what you are doing.
Handheld mirrors can be moved around to see different angles, but they do require you to have at least one hand free to do so. Other products can be mounted to the wall so that you can pull them toward you when you need to see your reflection up close. Shower mirrors, in particular, can be used to help you shave your face, legs, or other areas of your body in the shower.
Portable Mirrors to Use on the Go
If you are concerned about maintaining your appearance throughout the day, then you may wish to carry a portable mirror with you in your purse, backpack, or car. Compact mirrors are designed to fold up for easy storage, and the outsides of them are usually made from sturdy materials so that the mirror won't break or get damaged during transport.
Magnification and Lights
Both household mirrors and portable mirrors often come with special features such as magnification and/or lights. A magnifying mirror will make your reflection much bigger. Products will advertise magnification strength, which might range from 2X up to 12X.
Lighted mirrors can provide close-up illumination--usually provided by lights surrounding the rim of the mirror. These tools can come in especially handy as you apply makeup and want to judge the overall effect. back to top »
