I picked this up at my local natural foods store (apparently a profane word) and I have been very pleasantly surprised at how gentle this stuff really is. The scent is about medium, it doesn't really smell like classic lavender, but it is really moisturizing and soothing after facial cleansing. I am very happy with this product and want to try the rose version. I would recommend this toner to anyone who is looking for a gentle, alcohol-free toner. With the Boots I had an instant "Wow" but this one was "Eh". It's a bit drying, smells decent because of the lavender, and it's not irritating probably due to the Aloe and lack of alcohol. It doesn't seem to make a difference with my acne, so I'll probably stick with Boots and use this when I need toner twice in a day. I've used Dickinson's before but the smell became harder and harder to tolerate. This one is better in soooo many ways, not only can I tolerate the smell but it smells good. It smells like the Huggies line of lavender scented baby washes. It tightens up my pores and the aloe moisturizes it perfectly. I love that it's alcohol free and I can use it to control oil throughout the day. I used this after a peel with no irritation whatsoever! I'm completely sold! I used to apply them with the cotton pad to wiped the dirty or did the simple toner mask. It was little strong to my face, cause I could see my pimple got more red after I use that. And my face did not get soft after I use that. But it is a huge bottle. I like any toner with huge volume. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I have regular break-outs during pms, and the use of this toner greatly reduces my break-outs to an almost non-existent state. It's great as a preventative, but also lovely for a quick refresher during a hot day. A must-have on road trips for me. I wouldn't describe it as a lavender plant smell...more like a comforting lotiony lavender smell. Anyways, it doesn't sting at all, and it's pretty moisturizing because of the aloe.
