I use this product as a toner AM and PM after my cleanser. This makes me rest assured that my makeup as been removed before I go to bed.

Others claimed that this has helped them with acne breakouts, but sometimes I suspect this has aggravated mine.

Maybe the lemon and rose versions would be better because this reminds me of using laundry detergent smelling soap on my face.

Please note that the first ingredient is not witch hazel. It is water. If you are looking for a witch hazel product (like I was) then continue looking. Witch hazel is the 3rd ingredient on the list. meaning there is more water in this product than anything else. Witch hazel is very gentle and should not be diluted. This is more like aloe water. Looks like it feels like it so much that I tasted it...and no its not just water. Aint that good to know?

I have acne-prone combination sensitive skin and I love this as an astringent. Other astringents have fragrance, drying alcohol, and distilled witch hazel depleted of the natural tannins.

This one has none of the problems I described above with one more pro: it even has aloe vera! This calms my skin, keeps acne at bay and helps with oil control (but doesn't dehydrate my skin and cause peeling like drying alcohols, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide would).

Be warned though: some people are sensitive to witch hazel so I would spot-test on your neck first if you have sensitive skin.

How I use it: after cleansing, I soak a cotton pad with this and then use it on damp skin--focusing only on acne-prone/oily areas like my T-zone. I follow with an antioxidant serum then a moisturizer--both of which I apply all-over. This toner seems to work well even on days I use adapalene--the combo causes no irritation.

And to address the review that gave this one star for ineffective makeup removal: this toner is not formulated to remove makeup. A cleanser and/or makeup remover should do that. Toners can remove TRACES of makeup the cleanser missed--but this can also indicate the need for a better cleansing method.

Absolutely fabulous. In just a little over a week with daily use this product has dramatically reduced the blackheads on my nose and chin while leaving my skin silky smooth. I have extremely sensitive skin with the most obnoxious eczema so I can't use any harsh face washes with salicylic acid or any chemicals for that matter, ergo, blackheads (yuck) but lo and behold, I stumbled upon this toner that gently cleanses away my impurities and is truly fragrance free. There is nothing I don't like about this product, but for those of you saying it doesn't remove your make up, it's not really supposed to. You're supposed to cleanse and then tone, and whatever makeup your cleanser missed, your toner should get.

I used expensive toners before trying this (was looking for a cheaper alternative), when my friend mentioned she used witch hazel as toner. I've had bad reactions to toners with alcohol in them, and couldn't find a witch hazel toner without it...until I found this! Super cheap--[$] for a huge bottle. Will probably last awhile, and beats the $26 bottle of 6 oz. toner I was buying before this.Balances out my skin really well, and I've noticed a difference in the two weeks I've been using it. My skin's a lot more moisturized and I haven't been breaking out as much. This has been the only thing that's changed in my skincare routine, so I think this has helped keep the random pimples at bay. Love it! I just spray it on my face when I want a refresher as well...it's cheap so I don't feel like I have to save every last drop of it.

I use this product as part of my daily shave routine. After shaving and rinsing face with cold water I apply this to soothe skin. I let it dry while I'm cleaning razor then follow up with an aftershave. Highly recommend.

I use retin-a so I need to keep my skincare routine to be simple and gentle. This toner was the best one I have tried. Does a great job in refreshing my skin without any dryness. I like that it doesn't have any added active ingredients that might aggravate my sensitive skin. Leaves my skin soft and smooth every time I use it.
