There are few non-mint SLS free pastes out there. This one is working for our kids. It smells very strong, but my kids don't mind. It also contains the fluoride that kids need which is missing from many alternatives

We have purchased this hoping to have safer more natural toothpaste. However, after using it some time - our kids and us sampling we do not like it.

Looking at the ingredients, likelly culprit is Cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) is produced from dimethylaminopropylamine - which has amidoamine which in turn releases amonium.

CAPB was voted 2004 Allergen of the Year by the American Contact Dermatitis Society. This is very troubling and hope that company that prides itself on safer and more natural ingediesnts re-formulates their toothpaste line.

My daughter has very sensitive skin and easily developes exema rashes. We eventually identified Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) as a primary irritant. It is found in all manner of skin care products. We eliminated it from all the soap products she used but were still having problems. When I checked our toothpaste I found it contained SLS. I began looking for a cavity fighting toothpaste without SLS and found Natural Dentist. Just by switching toothpaste her skin cleared up quickly. We have been using the Natural Dentist for 1-1/2 yrs now and rarely have exema outbreaks. That's even more important with puberty getting started.

I like the gentleness of the Natural Dentist toothpastes. Though the taste of this Berry is not real good. It starts with a funny taste. As I brush, if I really try to taste there is some berry flavor.

Great for Grown ups, too! Doesn't chap the lips. No saccharin aftertaste. No SLS.
