I had for years canker sores on my gums caused by side effect of some medication. I had to eliminate any toothpaste with SLS component. This toothpaste not only has no foaming SLS but also has
- a very nice mild orange taste, refreshing mouth,
-proper consistence-not too thin not too thick,
-very gentle on sore gums.
-helped maintain sores healing

I'd been using Tom's clean & gentle Fennel with flouride and they discontinued it. I tried tom's whole care orange mango, and it's slightly irritating to my tongue, possibly from the SLS. Natural Dentist orange zest was the only non-mint, SLS-free toothpaste with flouride that I could find. Almost all toothpastes burn my mouth but this one doesn't. It's very mild.
There are two drawbacks. 1. It seems more abrasive than Tom's, and their website doesn't give the quantitative abrasiveness score. I have weak enamel and receding gums, so this is a concern for me. 2. The plastic tube is annoying in that it's hard to get the toothpaste out once the tube is 1/2 used, and it's not recyclable in my area. The metal toothpaste tubes are recyclable. I will alternate between this and the Tom's until I can find another non-mint SLS-free toothpaste with flouride.

I like a toothpaste that doesn't foam and doesn't taste of mint, and this one fit the bill. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also cleans teeth better than most toothpastes I've tried.

I use a Philips SonicCare toothbrush (highly recommended, by the way), and foamy toothpastes create a dribbly mess. So the fact that this one isn't particularly "foamy" is just fine. Don't be fooled into thinking that your teeth aren't being cleaned just because there's no foam! On the plus side, I'm always looking for a more interesting toothpaste flavor than the ubiquitous mint. The orange flavor is refreshing and pleasant. Plus, the packaging is excellent: the tube stands up on its top, which saves space and eliminates the awkward litter of a curled-up toothpaste tube.

Nice taste and smooth but seems to lack abrasion so sometimes I need to use baking soda with it.

It's a great product for people like me who don't like mint. My dentist recommended it. I really like the flavor, I use it 3 times a day. Please continue to have the orange zest toothpast available and I will deinintely purchase it.

using this and the matching mouthwash for passover but had to try it out ahead of time. Love the mouth wash too but the bottle is really small and thus expensive

My Hygienist suggested the Natural Dentist Toothpaste. I was using Solay salt but noted it made my teeth sensitive. This Orange flavor is very mild. Two pea sized dabs on the brush. Its a dual action. I found the "Run-of-mill" toothpaste seemed over strong which made my silva very thick and my taste buds tingling and numb. The Natural Dentist leaves my mouth feeling clean, not over treated with chemicals.

You won't like it if you like for it to foam like normal toothpaste. It is a little more grittier. My teeth & gums look great.
