I love these drops (see my other review of the bottle variety) but I don't like this packaging. The top, once removed, cannot be replaced, so it is impossible to carry these in a purse or pocket and they must be used at home. This packaging is found in many brands of drops in individual vials and I don't care for it. The drops are great, for the reasons I previously listed, but I would purchase the bottle if you need to carry them with you.

I'm sure the designers of the new vial do not use these drops. I get more on my face when I use them than in my eyes. This is so disappointing. I've tried many brands, and these are the best for my dry eye problem. I've been using them for several years. PLEASE ask the manufacturers to go back to the former vials.

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

Have been using this product for years because it is the only eye drop that does not end up irritating my eyes. I have dry eyes caused by blocked oil ducts, and use this product, along with Thera Tears Lubricant Eye Gel (a much thicker eye drop), two times per day (morning and night). Depending on the dryness I usually use one or two drops each of both the Drops and the Gel. First, I use the Gel, and then add the Drops. I keep my eyes closed for approximately two minutes, then pat my lids with a damp washcloth to remove the excess. I know it sounds like a lot of trouble, but it's not! Takes 3 minutes once in the morning (lasts all day) and then reapply at bedtime. I use one vial of each per day by wrapping the vial in a tissue (a fresh tissue) and placing it in a safe place. Then I finish it up at night. Always careful not to touch tip to anything.

An eye drop without preservatives was recommended by my eye doctor and this fits the bill. The individual vials keep the solution fresh until use.A trick is to keep them cold until use!

They've changed the packaging yet again

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

I haven't noticed any change in the drops themselves but they've changed the plastic droppers yet again. They seem to work alright. But it definitely seems like there is less volume in each dropper. Also, the packaging that holds the droppers is impossible to open bare handed. I find this particularly annoying when I wake up with dry eyes and have to stumble around trying to find a pair of scissors to open the dang package. So now when I open the box I snip the top of each package - very tiny so there is at least a point to start the tear. This seems to solve the problem. You'd think they could have provided this for us.

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

Dec 13: The manufacturer has just changed the caps to make these non-reclosable, which "just happens" to increase the cost to the consumer by *3 to 5 times!*. Its too bad - it was a good product. The manufacturers customer-service completely tried to stonewall me but did acknowledge they changed it deliberately to prevent us using up the contents. Sorry AVR, I'm shopping for another product from a more consumer-friendly company. A 5x cost increase is way too much!

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

These vials are the worst. The neck is bent which forms air pockets, which then causes the solution to squirt out in a gush. Plus you waste a lot since they've craftily designed it so the cap can't be replaced, the way you can with Systane, for example. I'd buy this again if the vials were user friendly, but they're not.

Thera-Tears were recommended by my opthamologist (M.D.). He said that I might be allergic to the preservitives in other dry-eye drops. Thera-Tears packaged this way have NO preservitives.

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

I read multiple complaints on this site about the new packaging and didn't understand why everyone hated the vials so much. Little did I know - I was using the old vials. The new vial design is so poor that despite these being the best drops for my dry eyes, I will not repurchase again until they bring back the old design.

The new vials have this hook shape at the end that make it nearly impossible for me to get the drops in my eye. I don't know what the rationale for this is but the old vials were so easy to use. I cannot understand why anyone would design something like this to dispense eyedrops into your eye.

Another reason I will not repurchase - the old vials were resealable (as are pretty much every single use vial product out there right now). This is great because you really don't need the full amount from the vials with each application. I can get 2 applications from each vial. But the new design is not resealable so once the vial is open you have to dispense the entire amount. It's impossible to carry these in a purse or pocket for use when you are out and about.

I am so disappointed in the new package design. These were really among the best drops for my eyes. I have switched to Systane drops and they seem to be doing well (better than Refresh Plus or Bion tears).
