I love these drops (see my other review of the bottle variety) but I don't like this packaging. The top, once removed, cannot be replaced, so it is impossible to carry these in a purse or pocket and they must be used at home. This packaging is found in many brands of drops in individual vials and I don't care for it. The drops are great, for the reasons I previously listed, but I would purchase the bottle if you need to carry them with you.

I'm sure the designers of the new vial do not use these drops. I get more on my face when I use them than in my eyes. This is so disappointing. I've tried many brands, and these are the best for my dry eye problem. I've been using them for several years. PLEASE ask the manufacturers to go back to the former vials.

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

I began using this due to dry eyes that began in my late 40s. My opthamologist had prescribed Restasis, which stung and is a steroid. I used it for a month and saw little to no improvement. I switched to the TheraTears lubricating drops (single-use means no preservative, which is what you want) I had also began taking the Theratears Omega-3 supplements. There is no stinging. You can't tell you put drops in. These really work. After about a year of weaning myself off the drops (mainly because I'd forget because the symptoms had improved so much). I continued to take the supplements only. (Side bar - 5 years later while visiting a dry climate I really needed the drops again and will continue using them until my eyes get back to where they should be.

I use this with Thera Tears Lubriquent Eye Gel. One drop eye drops and one drop gel. I use the eye drops in individual containers when I travel. And at home use the .5 (half ounce) sqeeze bottle. No side effects. Gentle and soothing for my dry eyes.

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

Have been using this product for years because it is the only eye drop that does not end up irritating my eyes. I have dry eyes caused by blocked oil ducts, and use this product, along with Thera Tears Lubricant Eye Gel (a much thicker eye drop), two times per day (morning and night). Depending on the dryness I usually use one or two drops each of both the Drops and the Gel. First, I use the Gel, and then add the Drops. I keep my eyes closed for approximately two minutes, then pat my lids with a damp washcloth to remove the excess. I know it sounds like a lot of trouble, but it's not! Takes 3 minutes once in the morning (lasts all day) and then reapply at bedtime. I use one vial of each per day by wrapping the vial in a tissue (a fresh tissue) and placing it in a safe place. Then I finish it up at night. Always careful not to touch tip to anything.

An eye drop without preservatives was recommended by my eye doctor and this fits the bill. The individual vials keep the solution fresh until use.A trick is to keep them cold until use!

They've changed the packaging yet again

Comments about TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers, 32 ea:

I haven't noticed any change in the drops themselves but they've changed the plastic droppers yet again. They seem to work alright. But it definitely seems like there is less volume in each dropper. Also, the packaging that holds the droppers is impossible to open bare handed. I find this particularly annoying when I wake up with dry eyes and have to stumble around trying to find a pair of scissors to open the dang package. So now when I open the box I snip the top of each package - very tiny so there is at least a point to start the tear. This seems to solve the problem. You'd think they could have provided this for us.

Dec 13: The manufacturer has just changed the caps to make these non-reclosable, which "just happens" to increase the cost to the consumer by *3 to 5 times!*. Its too bad - it was a good product. The manufacturers customer-service completely tried to stonewall me but did acknowledge they changed it deliberately to prevent us using up the contents. Sorry AVR, I'm shopping for another product from a more consumer-friendly company. A 5x cost increase is way too much!

These vials are the worst. The neck is bent which forms air pockets, which then causes the solution to squirt out in a gush. Plus you waste a lot since they've craftily designed it so the cap can't be replaced, the way you can with Systane, for example. I'd buy this again if the vials were user friendly, but they're not.
