Got this as a gift for my niece who loves it. She says it has been a tremendous help for her sore muscles, joints (back and knees). I have had one for a couple years and swear by it. Can use as heat pad (warm in microwave) or cold pack (freeze in freezer). Works great and I love to use it on my neck, in which I have two bulging discs.

I keep this in the freezer for cold use only. I have not tried to heat. It is great for my back. Only con, it needs to be about 3" bigger all around to cover back and shoulders down to my waist.

I love the ThermiPaq!! Had one for a couple of years before the clay in it dried up. I use it for chronic neck and back pain and it's been a lifesaver!
This pack is very durable as long as it isn't over heated. I just put it in the microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes (max) and apply it to the area of pain (with a thin towel between me and the pad). It gives consistant heat for at least 30 minutes. I always feel more limber after using the ThermiPaq.
I've never used it as a cold pack so cannot comment on that.
It's a life saver as far as I'm concerned. Works better than drugs.

This pad provides warm comforting relief , especially for lower back pain and shoulder discomfort. I have used both sizes for different reasons and found this product to be far superior to other similar microwavable pain relievers. Having suffered from occasional but severe headaches, I keep the small size in the freezer , ready to use. It is also th answer to "barking" knees, especially after a power walk or working out in the gym. ......and the best.......when your back is bothering you and you want to read in bed......pop the big size in the microwave and place it behind you where it is sore and the relief is wonderful

Excellent item to use for extended therapy exerises at home following knee replacement surgery. The large size wraps the top & sides of knee.

The large size is also great to lay on for low back pain. I use the clay for heat only as I prefer another brand of gel pads for cold therapy, which also come in the same large size.

Easy to use, but make sure you follow directions for your microwave wattage for heating these clay pads.

Purchased the large size heating pad for treatment of back pain. Because the large size pad is quite heavy, its a bit awkward to use while walking around. However, when seated or lying down, the pad works very well--heats uniformly and stays warm for quite a long time providing good long term relief. The larger size is ideal for the back, especially when the discomfort is not localized to just one side. The cloth sleeve is just the right thickness to transmit the heat while avoiding scolding from the pad (be careful to face the outer side of the cover towards your body as it is the thicker side--the inner side may get too hot)

Have had the bag-filled-with-grain type for years - it overheats, scorches, smells bad, and is lumpy. I thought that the clay filling-type was worth a try, and it works great. The one I have now works great, easily conforms to my low back when I'm sitting in a chair, and is very warm and comforting. Read and follow directions because it can overheat easily if nuked for too long. I heat mine for 1 1/2 minutes. Haven't used it cold yet. This product is larger than my first one, plus my husband has a leg muscle injury and is using the old grain-filled one. Thought it'd be good for each of us to have one of these. I recommend it.

Wireless heat therapy. It's heavier than traditional heating pads, but I like the weight of the heated clay and the moldability of it. The elastic and velcro allow you to strap it to where you need it.
