I have looked high and low for something that would taste good to a 13 yr old and have a higher amount of protein to support his needs during a high intensity workout. There's slim to no choices, until now. These work like a charm! He likes the chocolate fudge bar, but said these are superior in taste! And he's pretty picky! They also provide 20grams of protein which is enough to maintain the hard core athlete. These bars are not great tasting but they have ALOT of protein w/o sugar - which is rare. So I do eat them for the protein and not the taste. That being said - I will stick to the PB ones. Cons Best Uses Comments about thinkThin High Protein Bar, White Chocolate, 10 ea: I love Think Thin Bars in general because of the extra protein I need for running, without having to always eat meat/fish. I like their flavor, the use of sugar alcohol, and the lower calorie content compared to competitive brands. This is the first time I tried this particular flavor, and it was okay. I love the peanut butter and brownie flavors, so this was a nice variety to add to the mix. Pros

Comments about thinkThin High Protein Bar, White Chocolate, 10 ea: When you buy a whole box of protein bars, it's a risk, because maybe you won't like them. I read all the reviews and took a chance. Glad I did. Though I can't call these "health food" as I do the Organic Food Protein Bars, which I also buy on drugstore.com, they are really delicious, and since they have a whopping 20 grams of protein, are gluten-free, and have no really bad stuff in them, I think they are a great choice. I prefer soft bars, not the crunchy or too-chewy kind, and I also prefer white chocolate. These bars are not too sweet but sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth, and they are just the right size, because they are really satisfying. As an older person who has lost my appetite and involuntarily lost weight, I find these bars really helpful. Today I had one for breakfast with a homemade green drink (greens, nuts, fruit). They are also good to bring with me as a snack (they are not melty or sticky)for when my energy flags. I do like the Organic Food Protein Bars (OFB) too, but these are easier to get down--I just gobble it up like a candy bar. The OFB is a bit more substantive with a more grainy taste from the brown rice protein. But i like it for the amount of protein, 22 gm, and the natural ingredients. Pros

Comments about thinkThin High Protein Bar, White Chocolate, 10 ea: Living gluten free is not always easy. Many of the GF bars have nuts which I am supposed to avoid. This tastes great. I always have one in my purse in case I need some food and GF is not available. This is my favorite flavor of all the Think Thin bars. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about thinkThin High Protein Bar, White Chocolate, 10 ea: Nice low sugar alternative to most protein bar options. If you are looking for candy like protein bar stick to Atkins or Zone. These are tasty but not too sweet so they don't leave me craving something more. Pros

Comments about thinkThin High Protein Bar, White Chocolate, 10 ea: Eating gluten free has its challenges. I tried many protein/snack bars that were gluten free and disliked most of them. These bars are great! I have to take medications frequently and cannot take them on an empty stomach. I cut these bars into quarters and carry them in my purse. I can eat a piece anytime I need a quick snack. Delicious, carries well, and I never tire of them. Drugstore.com has the best price I've found, too. |
