My Miniature Poodle loves this dinner. The packages suggests that it's the right amount for a meal for a 20-lb. dog. My dog weighs 17 lbs. and I give him only 2-3 tablespoons for dinner. If I give him more, he has intestinal problems -- gas and a runny stool. Even if that weren't the case, it's important for dogs to eat kibble. It aids in cleaning the dog's teeth. Many vets recommend feeding dogs only kibble. But I like to give my guy a fun meal. I leave kibble out for him all the time. If he doesn't get filled up with this food and treats, then he eats his kibble. That's important for his dental health.

My dog likes this food, and I used to give it occasionally in small doses mixed with his other food instead of using table scraps because I thought it would be healthier for him. I had been using this in that manner for several months.
My dog over the last 6 months has had occasional issues with loud GURGLE sounds occasionally that lasted a few hours but then went away. I attributed it to something he had from the table or outdoors that shouldn't have eaten, and gave him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice till he was through it.
Recently, thinking this Three Dog Bakery entree was healthier for him than the food I had been feeding, I decided to go all-in and use this as his main meal instead of just a mix-in. After about 3 weeks of being only on this food, my dog was having the GURGLE sound at least weekly and most recently 3 days in a single week. Took him to the vet and brought a pouch of this along with list of other treats and food he eats with me.
The vet immediately cautioned me against using any product with Broccoli as the nutrition a dog can get from it is readily available in other foods without "gourmet" ingredients. He said Broccoli, especially the top floral portion, contains toxins to dogs that can cause gastro-intestinal issues and bowel issues. Used VERY OCCASIONALLY, he said COOKED broccoli STEMS may not cause this problem but any regular diet of broccoli is not good, and uncooked broccoli and even cooked broccoli heads should never be given!
SO BEWARE, I know, like mine, your dog probably likes this food, but there are better healthier alternatives! I am staying away from any food with vegetables as what is good for humans is not always good for dogs!
I hope THREE DOG BAKERY will remove broccoli from their products, and be more conscientious of what is good for dogs and not just aim marketing to their owners, who think it is healthy and gourmet to eat same stuff as themselves!

My pups love this and the price on drugstore.com is far less than anyone else, so I stock up when it's on sale. My pups love this food and even friends who claim their dogs are picky eaters watch their pups wolf this down when I offer it to them. The ingredients are great - chicken, veggies, and rice - and I have given this to several friends who are using it on days they can't cook meals for their special needs pups.

Your mileage may vary on this dog food. When I bought this, it was when I was really scared after the Pet Food Recall. I was extremely pleased when I served my dog. The food looks so healthy and I love it how you can see chunks of veggies in there too. Really, it could be human food. It wasn't hard to get my dog to eat it, I've never seen my pug gobble something down so fast... except for Smokehouse Jerkey for dogs sold on drugstore.com as well. I would love to continue to feed her this food, but unfortunately... she gets the worst gas ever... and it's not just a little gas... she stinks up the whole house (!!!) and it burns my eyes (I am not kidding), it's awful and she's so little and miserable. I gave this food 3 stars because I do think it is a great food (yummy) and my dog loves it, it unfortunately doesn't agree with her but I also understand that all dogs are different.

My dog absolutely loved this food. He is used to being fed a homemade dog food diet, but it has become difficult to have the time to make the food, so I tried this very healthy and nutritious food. It smelled very good when I opened it. I am so glad to have found something so good for my beloved dog.
