I think it cleared out all the junk in the pipes, etc. The machine started rinsing the clothing better. I also used the product on and front-load machine and it worked great. It is very, very strong smelling - there are obviously a lot of chemicals in the product. I shut the door to the washing machine room while it is running the product through because the smell is so strong. I would not buy it again because it was so overwhelming when I used it that I was forced to open windows in my laundry room! I prefer unscented products and this definitely needs to be that way for me to buy it again. I wish Seventh Generation made a cleaner because all of their products are non-toxic and cruelty free. I doubt Tide is. Pros

If you have a front loader DO NOT put the powder in the poweder dispenser as it will not completely disolve and you will be left with a lumpy mess in the dispenser. It is NOT an HE powder. I had to remove the dispenser and clean it out and run the machine againg to make sure there was no chemical residue left over. I am actually very surprised at Proctor and Gamble as usually their products are excellent. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Tide Washing Machine Cleaner, 3 ea: I read the directions on the label for a front loader and It recommended putting the powdered soap in the pull out tray and set the machine to normal-hot water. I knew this was wrong, because it's not high efficiency soap, but i did it anyway. After the machine was done i opened the tray to find a messy clump of undesolved powder. Pros
