This stuff is awesome!! I'm in Iraq right now and cut my short ( i got a little bored one day hehe) My hair is naturally curly and frizzy and has a tendency to have a mind of it's own in the heat, but this stuff is makes my hair straight and soft!! it's great! It does however make your hands a little sticky, but it's not that bad. Just wash it off, not too hard. It smells great too! All i do it stick this stuff in my hair after a shower and take like 5 minutes to blow dry it and i'm good to go for the rest of the day. Also when it's super frizzy i just apply a tiny bit to my dry hair and it calms it down.

I have tried many brands of gels, and this one hasnt been replaced yet! Its a very light serum which when dries produces the results of gel, and works very well to smooth and control naturally curly or frizzy hair. Most serums and gels either make your hair stiff as a brick or feel like you coated it in a light grease, this does neither. My curls stay together and still have natural bounce. Last but not least, it smells soooooooooo good. Thats one thing TIGI does really well - NOTHING i have tried that they make smells less than GREAT, nor do any of them bother my sensitivities to fragrances.

I'm assuming this product is best for very curly hair because it was no good for me. I have slightly wavy medium-thick hair that I blow dry straight and this product not only didn't help smooth, defrizz or shine my hair but it did the exact opposite - it left my hair dry like hay, rough, unshiny, unpleasant to touch, and tangled up every time I turned my head. I threw away my bottle and will never buy it again. Too bad, too, because I loved the way it smells. What's more, I dislike the Control Freak shampoo (except for the yummy scent there is nothing useful about it) and conditioner (doesn't even detangle well) also. The whole set just is terrible to me. And that's a shame because I otherwise like a lot of the Tigi Bed Head products.

I like how this serum makes my hair look: nice and straight, free of flyaways, and shiny. However, it makes my hair feel dank and leaves a bit of a filmy residue. A little goes a long way though, and it washes off of hands easily.

When it's humid or rainy, I can't live without this. My fine, color treated hair is slightly wavy most of the time, but tends to get fuzzy and unruly in the humidity. This seals the moisture out and gives it a nice smooth wave without weighing it down or making it sticky or gummy. It works especially well with a bit of light leave-in conditioner first, so that it seals in the softness, too. I can see that it wouldn't be powerful enough for really curly or frizzy hair, but for that summer-humidity or rainy-day fuzz, it's perfect.

I personally think this stuff is great. I have naturally very curly hair and this product really does work for me. My hair would be just plain craziness without it. It leaves my curls defined and shiny without making them crispy. A little pricey for the amount that you get, but overall a great product for me.

I've used Bed Head Control Freak Serum for nearly FOUR years now and I can't do without it! I know it costs a bit more, but I've tried "cheaper" frizz-control alternatives a few times and I just wind up wasting my money!!! My hair is such that if I were to let my hair air or blow dry without Bed Head, I would have curly hair where NONE of the curls clump together into nice ringlets and I get kinky, frizzy hair. If I apply Bed Head on wet hair after shampooing (not even necessarily using the Bed Head shampooing products) and let air dry, I get soft, clumped together curls (no crispiness, dries soft!) and if I blow it dry straight with a barrel brush, it smoothes right out and looks like I have naturally straight hair. If your hair is like mine and you HATE "clumps, stiffness and stickiness, but need to tame frizzy hair down to NATURAL-looking soft, smooth hair, then I HIGHLY recommend using Bed Head Control Freak Serum!

This product is perfect if you have to wear your hair up for work. While holding your hair in place, it still manages to keep the top smooth and shiny. I no longer have to use hair spray or other products that leave nasty residue.
