Straightener quit working completely within 2 months. First, the off/on switch wouldn't work...took it apart and fixed it. Then a couple of weeks later, the whole thing quit working! Could not return it of course....not impressed!

My hair is chin length & is thick and a bit wavy. It isn't frizzy or curly - so I can't comment on how this straightner would work on that type of hair. It works just fine on my hair. I also have an older Cricket model and the TIgi snags my hair less and heats up much quicker. The "running lights" on the sides are a bit goofy - but it doesn't matter - does it ?

I have straight hair and just need this to smooth and straighten some kinks or curls at the ends. This product does that, but I have to run it through my hair many times. It also snags the ends, so I end up having more kinks and split ends! Does not even create shine. My Conair straightener and curling iron in one works much better and does not snag hair!

I steered away from more expensive brands after reading multiple posts all over the net about how people have had them quit working after a few months of use. The TIGI so far has been great. We don't use it daily, but it seems to heat up fast, doesn't snag hair, and handles even thicker longer hair without taking too long. I like the temperature adjustment which isn't generally available on the under 100 dollar straighteners. So far so good.

I just wish the temperature would go a bit higher, because when you have thick hair, it takes forever to straighten with that low of temperature. I have used better hair straighteners that are almost 40 dollars cheaper. Only use this product if you have short or medium hair that is thin. Even if you have hair that is in the middle of thick and thin, it still takes a LONG time to use and sometimes it doesn't even stay straight for a long time.

I have had excellent results with this hair straightener. It works really well after I blow dry my hair to make it completely straight and smooth without frizz. It also adds shine and makes my hair so soft. The 1 1/4" is nice to do small sections and get close to the roots. I would definitely recommend it!
