Contains xylitol to help prevent plaque and propolis & myrrh for a healthy-feeling mouth.
Fluoride-free: some people do not want fluoride in their toothpaste. We produce fluoride-free toothpaste because we respect our customer's diverse needs and interests.
What is xylitol? Xylitol, a natural ingredient derived from birch trees, helps to prevent plaque buildup.
What is propolis and myrrh? We use two special herbal resins, propolis and myrrh, to promote a clean, healthy-feeling mouth. Propolis is a mixture of tree resin gathered by bees and myrrh resin comes from the myrrh bush.

I bought this, one day, for no special reason other than finding it in a bin marked down and I liked it that it was natural. I had been having NO luck with any toothpaste whitening my teeth, and frankly had given up the search. You know how, after you brush, you do a quick flash check of your teeth in the mirror before walking away. Well......I had to do a double take. I couldn't believe how much whiter my teeth were, and after only one brushing. Now keep in mind, teeth whitening had not even entered my mind, with this toothpaste. I've tried the other Tom's flavors since, without getting these results, so I would really recommend this very one. I have not tried any of Tom's that touts whitening, though. I'm so sold on this one, I won't be changing toothpastes again.

I have an anise flavored toothpaste that I love, a fluoride free toothpaste I'd found at a natural foods store. When they quit stocking it, I tried their new kind. It didn't taste as good, at all. I then ordered it online. When I saw this online, I thought I'd try it. No way is the flavor comperable. Nature's Gate Creme de Anise with baking soda and anise oil takes the prize. It's so good that I ordered seven of them for stocking stuffers for my grown children. I'm just looking for a fluoride toothpaste that tastes good. This isn't it.
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
I don't understand why Tom's thought they needed to change the formula. The texture is now smoother and the flavor not so strong. Boo. Just when you thought you'd found the perfect product.......
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
I like licorice and love the flavor of this toothpaste. I will buy it forever! I want a fliptop cap though, who has time for these tube you need to unscrew & screw?!
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
Not everyone loves the taste of fennel or licorice, but if you do, you will love the refreshing taste of this toothpaste! Knowing that it is a natural product that prevents tooth decay makes it just that much more appealing.
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
This has a very distinct "black licorice" flavor, so if you don't like that, then you won't like this. I actually hate black licorice myself, but I love this. To me, my teeth feel the cleanest and freshest when I use this one, out of all my Tom's flavors at home (peppermint, cinnamon, spearmint, mango). I have ultra-sensitive teeth, and this is the only brand I can use. They are so sensitive that my gums would bleed periodically (not gum disease, no). I've used Tom's for the past 5 or so years, and no bleeding gums. Love it!
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
Have used this product for over 20 years and still love the fresh, clean feeling it gives me. I do not like the taste of licorice at all, so at first was a bit wary of trying the fennel, but a friend recommended it and I've used it ever since! I do alternate my toothpaste and sometimes use another product with fluoride, but Tom's of Maine is something I will always keep in the cupboard.
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
Although I do use other brands of toothpaste sometimes, I prefer Tom's. It's gentle and doesn't leave the skunky aftertaste like some of the "minty fresh" big brands. I'm not a big mint fan and love the fennel flavor.
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
My mouth is terribly sensitive and I am having a hard time adjusting to this toothpaste. I miss the Clean & Gentle w/ fluoride fennel that was discontinued.
Comments about Tom's of Maine Propolis & Myrrh Natural Fluoride Free Toothpaste, Fennel, 5.5 oz:
I'm happy with the toothpaste because my dentist said I had good gum care and no cavities. It taste good while using all natural products. I will probably use this toothpaste for the rest of my life.
