I have combination skin which is a little bit oily in the T-Zone but haven't had breakouts since my teens (now in my late 20s). I tried this product to brighten up the skin tone and to get rid of some of the milia on my face caused by the richer skin care products from Estee Lauder.

I followed the instructions by applying once daily (at night) and rinsing off after 10 minutes. When the product first goes on the skin, the skin does feel tighter and cleaner. However, by the second day, my face began breaking out with small bumpy pimples on the forehead, the cheekbone area, and along the jaws.

After some research on the internet, I thought this breakout was normal "purging" period that should go away once the skin adapts to the product, so I continued using it. However, the situation only worsened. First, the pimples didn't go away. Second, my face itched constantly during the day. Third, the skin on my nose turned red and started bleeding (I had stopped putting the product on my nose as soon as it turned red but it still got worse). Blisters appeare don my lips (I don't use the product on my lips) and other area of my face began turning red as well.

By this point (a week later), I'm very skeptical of the so-called purging claim and stopped using the product. It's been three days and the symptoms only improved slightly. My face is now covered in pimples, my nose and cheeks are red, and the whole thing just itches like crazy.

Judging by the number of raving reviews this product receives, it must be doing something right for some people. Just be careful and maybe do a skin test before putting it on your face. It's very harsh and hopefully the damages are not permanent.

I had very high hopes for this product, it seemed that it would be great for my occasional breakouts and combination skin that sometimes is acne prone.

I used it as directed and after three weeks had to see a dermatologist to correct my skin--still working on it a few months later. This product gave me horrible cystic acne and also lots of surface acne that looked awful. It's been so bad it brought me to tears.

I'm most upset that I wasted so much money on this product just to have to throw it away. And I have to be on a prescription acne product to fix my now awful looking skin.

I never write reviews but felt I had to warn those with acne prone skin that this product will possibly make a disaster out of your skin!

I love this product. It is the only product my skin will tolerate. I am allergic to many cosmetic ingredients. It has kept me looking my best for many years. Love the pump because it gives you just the right amount.

I had really high hopes for this gel after reading the reviews. I normally use Alpha Hydrox Souffle and that keeps my face pretty clear. I used this gel on my face for one month and it made my skin worse. Within the first week I had three cystic pimples appear, one on my chin, two on my neck. Four weeks later, they are still there under the skin and they won't pop or go away. I also have numerous, small flesh colored bumps on my forehead and jawline that were not there before I started using this gel. Also, an oily sheen always appears on my face within an hour after applying the gel. I will be going back to Alpha Hydrox Souffle now. What a waste of [$].

I used this product on my feet, everyday day applying and then putting lotion on top. It has made my feet so soft. I will keep using this product.

I bought this product to help reduce dark pigmentation and even out skin tone. This has helped with both those things and also helps to prevent breakouts. It really helps with exfoliation. I also bought Ambi Skin Discoloration Fade cream for dark spots and use it in combination with this so it's hard to say how much impact each product individually has had on the problem, but in combination the difference was noticable right away.

African American Women -- this is THE TICKET! I have been using this product for several years... one bottle lasts for many months! I wake up with a pimple, and this does the trick on each spot. No more spots, no burning, no bumps! I have had combination skin with fine bumps/some breakouts for years... this product helps manage all this. I have tried many other potions and products, but this is the only one I can use under make-up with no issue. My skin is not 'bad', but this glycolic gel makes it BEAUTIFUL. This is the only thing I rely on when I have a special meeting or event. I am in my 40s now, and don't have any connection to the manufacturers -- so this is nothing but a consumer endorsement. After years of use... no one believes I am 44 -- I look 34!
