I have very long, thick, slightly wavy, colored dark blond hair and I use this the second day after a shampoo to minimize the damage on my colored hair. I alternate with using Psst, which makes my hair feel a little drier than this product. This is also a heavier product that Psst and the fragrance actually is less noticeable a few minutes after application. It gives a little more body than Psst but also weighs the hair down more so if you have thinner or finer hair, you may want to opt for the other product. Both are very affordable. I've used an expensive powder-based "hair freshener" but cornstarch-based baby powder is just as effective though both products tend to remove any shine and leave a slight residue. Tresemme's product absorbs the oil (just like the powder) and gave my hair volume (more like stiffness) but left a visible white residue that was difficult to brush out and removed any shine. Some people may not mind how this product feels in their hair but I don't like the stiffness (kept feeling like I needed to wash my hair!). I'm going to stick with using powder - it's effective, cheaper and easier to control how much I use and where it goes. Best Uses Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: I used spray dry shampoos before and when I saw this foam dry shampoo I was eager to buy as I thought it might work even better. Wrong! It simply does not do the job. It leaves your hair sticky and just as greasy/unfresh as they were to begin with. I bought it a while ago, used it three times (first time-to find out how it works, second to give it another chance and third-to prove myself it was a bad choice). I didn't toss it as it's still full, but in reality I do not see myself using it again.

Best Uses Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: I bought this hoping it would be a less costly alternative to Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo, which I love. Did't work. It left a powdery residue. It goes on kinda wet and sticky. It makes my hair feel gross, and I can't seem to rub it in or brush it out like you can with most other dry shampoos. I'm not a fan.

Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: You REALLY have to know how to use these "dry shampoo" products before using them. The directions on the can are no help, nor do they describe how to use the product efficiently.

Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: I purchased this item for a 4 day camping trip. I wanted to test the product out before trusting it for 4 days and I am so glad I did! So one morning, I decided to try it out. Good grief. I did follow the instructions, but lasted about 30 minutes until I had to take a real shower to get the junk out of my hair. My hair generally feels relatively clean in the morning. After applying this stuff, it felt like I had just pumped it full of hairspray, it was so sticky and unmanageable, I had a hard time pulling a comb through. So, I checked, just to make sure I HADN'T accidentally grabbed hairspray and sprayed it all over my head. Nope, it was this dry shampoo. Totally missed the mark. Needless to say, I tossed the can, wasn't even worth the attempt to return.

Best Uses Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: Smells nice, but it made my hair feel sticky and greasy. I wash my hair every other day, and sometimes it becomes little oily looking and flat at the crown by the end of the second day. I just wanted to freshen it up and add a little volume. Yuck! Made it look dull, dirty and greasy, and it felt horrible. I'll stick to Batiste from now on.

Cons
Best Uses Comments about TRESemme FreshStart Dry Shampoo, For Oily/Straight to Normal Hair, 5.7 oz: I was excited to try this but was sorely disappointed. The smell is off-putting, but after a while it goes away. However the thing that bothered me was that after I sprayed it on, it looked like baby powder in my hair. I don't know if it was just because my hair is blonde, but it looked AWEFUL. Plus it made my hair really stiff so I had no choice but to wash it.
