While driving you are less likely to be able to adapt your position to keep the pad in place. A velcro strap or the like might help.

This little heating pad is just right for the car. I travel long distances to and from work and with a bad back I needed just what this little beauty provides! There is no heat adjustment setting, but for the most part the heat provided is just right.
