I love these boards, they are much more gentle than a standard emery board. These are great not only for my fragile nails but also for filing my toddler's nails after clipping. Yes, they do wear out over time, but not a big deal considering the low price. I always carry one in my purse in case I get a chipped nail.
These are perfect for my fragile nails. They're not meant to last forever--if you want that, buy a pricey diamond file--but for an inexpensive, disposable file that is good for the short term and very gentle on extra fine/thin nails, this is the file for you!
Okay for the first few uses, but flimsy. If they get splashed by the sink or you rinse them off, the layers detach. Over time, creases develop. Adequate for the price.
Nails should always be filed when dry to insure smooth edges. Place the emery board under the nail edge, at a slant, and file in one direction only. Back-and-forth filing may cause cracking and splitting. For best results, nails should be filed into an oval shape following fingertip contour. Filing into a point weakens the nail. Cleaning instructions: Brush boards under running water. Pat dry and allow to air dry.
