These are great not only for my fragile nails but also for filing my toddler's nails after clipping. Yes, they do wear out over time, but not a big deal considering the low price. They're not meant to last forever--if you want that, buy a pricey diamond file--but for an inexpensive, disposable file that is good for the short term and very gentle on extra fine/thin nails, this is the file for you!
