What sets this apart from other sweeteners is that not only does it taste pleasant and smooth, but I notice a vanilla-like flavor included. When I first opened up the box, I mentioned to my husband that it smells like Dairy Queen! We have recommended this to everyone over the other sweeteners out there. My only suggestion would be that Truvia be sold in loose granules, because we use it a lot for baking. One cup of sugar equals about 16 packets of Truvia we found which gets a little time-consuming. Maybe some people have a tolerance to them I just don't possess. Anyway, I despised this stuff, though I was willing to give it a chance, especially considering the positive reviews here. However, the old adage is proven right in the case- if it sounds too good to be true (that one can have their sugar taste without actually tasting sugar), it's a lie. While I don't believe, as many do, that sugar is the root of all evil, I thought I would at least give this a try. Weight loss really isn't a concern to me- but I do want to keep away cavities & losing a few calories from my diet here & there won't hurt. However, this tastes as bad as all the other artificial sweeteners out there, if not worse. Splenda, which I can't stand to imbibe except in strongly-brewed iced tea, is even better than this, and that isn't saying much. I can't believe that this stuff is "natural", considering that it reeks of a chemical aftertaste, which takes several minutes to dissipate. It is expensive, probably because it's got the trendy stevia behind it. However, Truvia destroys the flavor notes of whatever it's put into, such as coffee, Earl Grey tea, or iced black tea. It doesn't enhance the flavor & cut bitterness, as sugar is intended to do. In some circumstances, molasses or maple syrup can be used, but of course those options don't work in place of sugar in all items. So I'll continue to purchase unbleached raw sugar, as I've yet to find any adequate substitute. The only thing I would say is I wish it coulda been a little sweeter because I need to use about 1-1/2 packs per cup of coffee, but my cup of coffee is a large cup. Other than that no complaints. Give it a try I think you will like it!  Pros

It is natural, my doctor recommended it and I love it. Tastes the same as sugar, you can use it in anything. I don't get headaches from using it, which I always did if I used splenda or any of the others. The only con - I wish more products would start to use it as their sweetener. Pros

Since it is more natural than other artificial sweeteners, I feel better using something that isn't introducing a bunch of synthetic chemicals in my body.
