I have unusually thick cuticles which crack and tear easily. I used these new clippers as I normally do and they absolutely chewed up my cuticles, leaving them ragged and bleeding. After a week of applying antibiotic cream I was able to clean up the damage with my old Revlon nippers but it took another week for my hands to be presentable.

It's a good product, I just wish I had ordered the 1/4 jaw and not the 1/2 jaw. I didn't realize there was a difference so beware when ordering and know which one to order.

This tool is an absolute MUST HAVE for people who do their own nails. This will trim cuticles and hang nails, as well as refine the shape (corner) of the actual nail. (I even use it to clean under the nail, though it's sharp so have to be careful.) It's strong enough to use on both finger and toe nails. It is worth getting the Tweezerman brand here: I have another one of these tools from a different (cheaper) brand and that one is starting to wear down and not line up correctly, but the Tweezerman tool is like new after years of use! The comment saying it's like using a surgical instrument got it right. Very high-quality tool, with a lifetime sharpening guarantee.

I purchased these clippers because I have owned Tweezerman products before including cuticle clippers. The pointed tip on one side broke off on my second use. I am sending them back to Tweezerman in hopes that they will be replaced. Not really happy that you have to allow 4 weeks to get them back! :(

p.s. I used to be a licensed manicurist so I know that I am using them correctly.

After buying a pair of "Trim" cuticle nippers, thinking of "Trim" as a good brand name, and returning them (didn't work - stainless steel but very poor quality - had steel burrs and irregularities and the cutting surface didn't even meet evenly, and they were dull to boot) I purchased these. The price was not enjoyable, but wow, these are amazing. It's like using a surgical instrument. Sharp and high quality. This is what I expected when I paid what I did, and they proved they were worth it. I will NOT be trimming nails with these. They are cuticle nippers, not nail trimmers. If treated right, I think these will last for a long time.

I save myself a lot of salon time by using these nippers to clean up the appearance of my nails. They are sharp - and that's all that matters! I think the free sharpening is a little misleading because you actually have to ship it to them to get them sharpened...and it may be a wash if you can have someone local sharpen the nippers.
