There is a sticker on the back that says "pull tab before use" It took me a while to figure out that I had to remove the light fixture (with a tiny screw driver) to get to the tab. But, its suction cups allow me to put stick it to my mirror and leave it there for when I need to zoom into and illuminate my face. The lighting is adequate, as is the magnification.
