I've been using this particular soy isolate for many years after reading that the Supro brand had finally overcome the problems with most soy proteins. Most soy proteins up to the point when the Supro version was introduced lacked a complete amino acid profile, had low bioavailability, tasted horrible and were not on par with other protein types (like whey or egg). The Supro brand overcame these problems and was one of the first complete, high quality soy proteins on the market. Just reading the label should tell you that it's a high quality protein--since it's very low in fat and has zero carbs.

As far as taste--it's not meant to add flavor (there are plenty of other options out there for that), but to add nutrition--specifically extra protein. This product has a flour-like consistency and approximately the same taste as flour--iow--virtually no flavor at all. I mix it into oatmeal (along with cinnamon and sugar substitute) to increase the protein content of the meal as well as to add thickness. It's perfect for this.

I'm only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because it costs approximately the same as other more expensive protein sources--specifically whey and lacks the growth factors present in most whey protein powders. However, it offers advantages that most whey proteins do not--primarily the flour-like texture and lack of additional ingredients since this product is basically pure soy isolate.

I cannot see being without this product as it has for many years been a staple for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone desiring extra protein in a convenient form.

I use protein powder in shakes to replace breakfast. Normally, I don't get hungry for 4 or 5 hours after drinking shakes made with other protein powders ... but when I use Vege Fuel, I'm starving about 3 hours after drinking my shake.

After a workout one morning I stopped into a coffee shop and bought a high protein shake. It tasted chalky (yuck), but I drank it b/c it was good for me. What I didn't expect was how totally GREAT I felt the rest of the day! I was hooked on protein. I immediately started researching protein powders and decided to go soy (I figure I can’t go wrong adding more soy into my diet). I add a portion of the serving into my morning yogurts. It mixes just fine, no taste, just a tad bit of chalkiness. But, truth is, I'd take this stuff no matter what! I am not a "health nut" per se, but if something makes me feel good, I do it. I start every day with a handful of vitamins and antioxidants, and a couple protein packed yogurts - and keep a can in the office for an afternoon yogurt pick-me-up. It's easy and healthy and makes me feel great. It’s one of the easiest healthy habit to add to my life.

Tried my best to mix this stuff to make it edible, but had no luck. I find that it does have a strange, chalky flavor. Glad to see some folks can stomach this, but it's the worst tasting powder mix I have ever purchased.

The only soy protein powder I've found with virtually no flavor at all (unlike many that are vanilla-flavored). A little chalky, but that's par for the course. Post-jaw surgery, I've been mixing it with smoothies, vegetable juice, oatmeal, broth and more. Great stuff, I will buy it again!

I love it! I am bedridden and have decubitus ulcers. I do not take in enough protein in my diet so I need to use a supplement. I mostly drink it in iced tea and am very happy with how it dissolves without changing the taste. I am also very happy with the amount of protein in each scoop. And, it is very reasonably priced.

Terrible. A whey supplement with a vanilla flavor mixes better in almost anything. This is chalky- just gross.

I despised this the first time I tried it! I mixed it with a spoon into skim milk. BLEH!!! Gawd awful. The next time I used the blender - 75% improvement and actually palatable! Now I also throw in a banana and voila, it's great! I only wish it came in a 25 pound tub.

This Twinlab Soy Protein product is one that I keep coming back to. I buy Nestle's strawberry powder mix and I mix the soy with milk and the Nestle's in a blender and I love it. The taste is not overwhelming, and the powder dissolves pretty well in milk. I've tried it in other juices and drinks but didn't like it.

This is a very nice product. I'm impressed with the energy it provides, that it's vegetarian, and that it doesn't have much fat. It kept me going for a long time. The protein content is also very high, which makes it a very good diet food. The only drawback is that you have to take a large serving to meet the requirement. It's reasonably priced.
