This is real niacin, which means it will cause flushing. My cardiologist recommended that I don't use niacin-containing formulas ("non-flush" or "slow release") unless I absolutely could not tolerate the flushing since some studies indicated a higher incidence of liver damage with those formulations. So I'm glad to find real niacin at a very reasonable price.

THIS PRODUCT CAUSES FLUSHING!

If you have been taking Niacin and have been taking the non-flushing type, be aware that this product IS NOT non-flushing.

I have been taking Niacin for well over a year without any problems. I decided to shop around and try to find a less-expensive product, so I ordered this. I did not notice that is is not a flush-free product. I happened to have had a bit of a sinus infection when I changed over and then, each day for a few days, I could get a strange tingling sensation all over, I got very warm, and I turned red and was covered with hives! My mother, with whom I reside, got on the Internet and diagnosed me with all kinds of things. After a couple of days, I recalled my doctor telling me something about the possible flushing with taking Niacin. So, I found this bottle and discovered it did not say "Flush Free" or "Non-Flushing". So, now I have bought a bottle of Nature's Bounty Flush Free Niacin to replace it, and the only flushing the rest of the bottle will see will be flushing it down the toilet!
