This product might well work. I have no idea. I haven't been able to use it long enough to tell - because it is quite irritating to my skin. I tried using it every other day, and using a lot of moisturizer, but no luck. It made my skin red and itchy, and a week after discontinuing using it, my skin is still quite itchy.
This product was recommended by friends to lighten age spots, reduce fine lines, and improve the color and texture of facial skin. I must say I do think it works, if you are patient enough, but is somewhat irritating to the skin. Unless you have a very unreactive skin, I would suggest it be used every other day (or less frequently), and with a good moisturizer.
My TX dermatologist recommended Afirm as a way to get rid of rapidly dividing, pre-cancerous skin cells on the backs of my hands. I had to get a couple of spots burned off in the past, and could feel similar roughness developing in new places. Afirm helps you gradually slough off the "bad" skin without scarring, and also gets rid of freckles, age spots, actinic keratoses, etc. It's gradual, so be patient. I generally use it 2 or 3 times/year for 6-8 weeks. I apply it with a Qtip at bedtime. The "bad" spots may get reddish, like a healing cut, but that's the medicine killing off the bad cells. It always heals beautifully, and sure beats scars! If 6-8 weeks of Afirm doesn't clear up your problem, you should probably consult a dermatologist.
