While I prefer powdered Tide, Gain is the next-best thing. It is absolutely essential to use powdered detergent for maximum cleaning results in loads where hot water is used. Examples would be whites/bleach loads (using 1 c. of Clorox bleach to keep whites looking fabulous & pristinely clean), or for a load of colored towels by itself. Can also be used w/ powdered Biz or 20 Mule Team powder for superior stain removal & brightening when using bleach isn't possible (because of elastic presence or color of items being washed). Assuming I use powdered Gain w/ either bleach or Biz, no pre-treating is needed of stains, as they come out every time. Good stuff- smell is clean, but not overwhelming. No allergy issues or itching skin that I can recall from using this in the wash, either.
